Zero buyer’s remorse
If you’re anything like me, shopping for a motorcycle GPS meant watching countless YouTube videos, reading reviews, and asking around before making a decision. After all that research, I chose this unit and had it professionally installed on my 2017 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S. I ride recreationally quite a bit—up to 3,000 miles per month, almost entirely on paved roads—and I’ve been extremely happy with this GPS. The unit feels very high quality, and the screen is large, crisp, and extremely bright. Seriously—bright. Once you use this, you’ll wonder why you relied on your phone for navigation for so long. Visibility is excellent in nearly all lighting conditions, including full sun. The touchscreen is also very glove-friendly and easy to operate while riding. It does everything I need and more. It connects consistently to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi without issue, updates easily, and I especially like how simple it is to add waypoints and points of interest. In addition to excellent navigation, I also use it to display and control Spotify. The interface is responsive and fast—no lag when switching menus or screens. Because I often ride spiritedly on twisty roads, I appreciate knowing when sharp turns or long straightaways are ahead. I’ve also paired it with my Garmin InReach since I frequently ride outside cell/data coverage—yet another reason a dedicated GPS is worth having. Yes, modern smartphones can technically navigate via satellite, but in my experience they’re slower and far less practical for motorcycle use. Bottom line: I have zero buyer’s remorse and would absolutely purchase this unit again. Bonus tip for fellow 3rd-gen Multistrada owners: I initially mounted this to the handlebars but later found an Amazon mount that positions it centered above the OEM infotainment screen. It’s a much better setup. See attached photos and search: Xitomer Motorcycle GPS Mount Bracket for Multistrada.

This is a good GPS unit.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: During long motorcycle rides you will find yourself in "cell phone free zones"- no cell service. Just buy this as a dedicated waterproof motorcycle GPS and you will not have to worry about downloading maps to your phone, or your phone overheating or getting too cold and shutting down. I have the XT GPS on my one motor and bought this one for my new motorcycle. The XT2 has a little bigger screen and comes with a mount in the box! Who knew? I bought a similar mount, mounted it on the motorcycle and then opened the XT2 box and found the same style mount. This XT2 GPS has been accurate and brightness very visible in the daylight. I have not had a ride with it at night so far. The touchscreen feature works with a gloved finger. I actually bought this unit while Amazon had a sale price going on. Although everything is getting expensive these days, the fact that I don't have to use my phone for my GPS unit makes this unit worth the money to me.

Love my garmin
Great performing g p s unit. I want to say it's accurate within three feet. Super easy to use and set up. I wired mine into switch power. So that when I turned my ignition off, it cut power to the charging base. Bluetooth works great.Have it connected to my phone and my cardo.Unit, and they all three work together awesomely. Kind of expensive bit of kit, but worth every penny.

Major design flaw makes device completely unreliable
When this device works, it's great. The display is clear, the interface is easy to read, and it seems to play nicely with my iPhone. However, it is prone to failure. The touch screen stopped working on mine shortly after I purchased it (less than 2000 miles of road use). I had to mail it back to Garmin. As a result, I did not have access to GPS navigator for an important summer trip that involved difficult navigation on unpaved roads with minimal signage. Garmin eventually got a repaired or replaced device back to me. It has worked for another 2000 miles, but yesterday the screen began receiving ghost inputs -- I was riding home and random menus would activate as if pressed, forcing the map off screen. This is what happened last time, before the screen completely failed and stopped accepting touch input. I expect I will have to send this back to Garmin again. I want to give this device 5 stars, but it's not a trustworthy piece of equipment. My experience suggests you cannot rely on it to work when you need it most. If you buy one, I recommend keeping on Plan B device in your kit. UPDATE: The XT2 failed me again. This time, with a replacement device sent by Garmin, it only took two days and about 250 miles before the touchscreen stopped working. The XT2 has failed on every major trip I have tried using it. Garmin has sent replacements (I think I'm on #4 since buying it two years ago), but this is no help when the issue is a design flaw they will not fix. I advise against purchasing this device.

Love my new Garmin Zumo XT2!
This high resolution unit is easily readable in the direct sunlight and can be dialed down as needed. There are so many amazing features that I am still learning. Easy to install. Make sure to hard wire the power to your battery so it does not turn off with the ignition. It also comes with various handle bar mounts for different configurations.

Tread! Zumo XT2 finally has decent off gps software support.
A few native feature improvements over the Zumo XT. Gas prices, shared friend location, and some GUI updates. But the best feature is Android phone software that actually works. Tread is a huge improvement over the orphaned Zumo XT Drive app, that offer very little. It's a very nice touch that it will function off the old Zumo XT powered mount. For the price it really should come with a protective case, like the old 880 did. The XT2 processing actually feels slightly slower than the XT, but not by a lot. I suspect the OS has some hidden improvements, because it now seems to have threads or multi-task. Imagine my surprise when it provided voice navigation for the current route, while calculating an entirely new route. My XT never did that. This unit was purchased for my wife's bike. I used it on a 2 week tour, with my XT mount. It was a little nice, but not enough to purchase a 2nd unit. The main benefit of having two XT2 units would be to share our locations. When touring we are normally riding together, so that's not a huge feature. At this time I would NOT buy a Garmin Zumo XT (original version). The XT Drive software is horrible and they claim it doesn't work with Explore, because it's built in and not necessary on the Zumo XT. Making the Zumo XT a very ignored model in Garmins lineup. They REALLY should add support for the Zumo XT in Tread, just to provide decent software for those who've suffered through the Zumo XT for all these years!

Very impressed
This is my first Zumo and it’s everything Garmin describes and more. There has been two updates in less than a week and with each update, it keeps getting easier and more workable. The tread app works great in concert with the Zumo xt 2. I got 3m protective tape for the screen just in case.

Finally The Motorcycle GPS We’ve Hoped For
Software has always been Garmin’s Achilles heel as most users of their navigation devices know. I still own 6 of them from the many years of use but I always hated their software both on the device and the Apps (so many…Basecamp, Explore, Earthmate, Smartlink and now Tread.) but Tread and the XT2 actually are well done and easy to use with the functionality we’ve been waiting for going on a decade for me. Well done Garmin. The device is super well made & finished and easy to use with gloves on.
