Product description Durability, Optimal Signal, & Lowest Possible Noise 4 points of contact for a secure connection The Pure Tone jack tensioned design locks the plug securely in place and prevents the cable from wiggling. Over time, this action causes the metal tabs on a standard jack to become fatigued until they eventually fail; the Pure Tone Jack exerts equal pressure on all four sides resulting in a more solid connection with unrivaled durability. The Pure Tone Difference Greater surface area at all contact points creates a more stable connection Securely locks cable in place Full-contact design reduces metal fatigue on the jack High-quality copper construction Prevents crackle from wiggling cable Four-sided Contact for Maximum Stability Full Contact for Maximum Stability Let's face it, the 1/4 inch Jack socket you're using in your guitar and your pedals was designed in the 19th Century for patching phone calls. The new Pure Tone jack makes those old crackly 1/4 inch jacks obsolete! The Pure Tone jack contains dual tension grounds and dual positive tips for optimal signal and lowest possible noise. Greater surface area at all contact points creates a more stable connection, locking the cable securely in place and carrying more signal; as a result, high and low frequencies are greatly improved creating a much more balanced sound while eliminating frequency spikes. Most importantly, the Pure Tone Jack eliminates the infamous “crackle” noise caused by pressure grounds and fatigued metal tabs. The Pure Tone jack tensioned design locks the cable securely in place and the increased metal mass carries more signal. Made from highly-conductive beryllium copper, the Pure Tone jack also allows for increased current handling at 500 volts for high current applications. Review: Excellent Upgrade - I love these Pure Tone output jacks - I’ve installed them on multiple guitars, and they make a big difference. They hold the cable jack much more securely, with a solid, stable connection every time. They fit perfectly in Firefly Les Pauls and are easy to wire in. Great quality, reliable performance, and well worth the upgrade. Review: This should be the industry standard. Even on cheap gear. - I just resurrected a 90's BC Rich Warlock Bass (Platinum) using this jack, and a new jack plate. The wiring was done terribly on the original, and the original jack was just a single point of contact, generic junker you see in basically all basses and guitars. This thing was easy to solder, fit perfectly in the pre-existing jack port route, and makes absolutely zero noise plugging in. The connection is tight, and secure, and pulling this out accidentally is going to be a challenge!! For such a small price, and such a massive improvement, these things should be the new 'standard' for your gear. Soldering is cheap and easy. This jack is cheap and easy, and superior. I will now be replacing all of my gear with this jack. Unreal.

Works, easy to install if you have the skills
Replaced a jack in an old Peavey for my kiddo and works great. It's a basic jack, not much more to say about it other than it works!

worth the price. the connection is much, much more secure, and the install was easy.

Its a BIG jack
I bought this input jack to use in a 2008 ESP LTD EC-50 - its a Les Paul single-cut style guitar with the input jack opening flush to the side of the body. No question that it is a durable, quality input jack and I love the subtle transparent black color - this is the primary reason that I bought it. I did consider the quality aspect, but it was mostly the color that drew me to it since the guitar I bought it for is all black. It works pretty well too - it almost has like a double lock feel to it when you plug in the cable. It has a quality "grab" to it and requires some effort to plug in and unplug the cable, which is also what I would expect. I had/have two issues with this jack; Its REALLY big and bulky and just barely fits in the input jack cavity hole. In fact, I am still having an issue with a short of some sort if pressure is applied to one side of the input plug on the cable; like the jack is pressing against the cavity wall shielding. The other issue is that you will need to rough the surface of the soldering points for an optimal soldering experience. This thing is big and busy as you can see by the picture(s). I had to solder the hot and ground for the pickups and the hot and ground for a kill switch. Not only was it super tight space I had to work in between all the prongs of the input jack itself (outside of the body), but it was a nightmare getting the solder to weld to the surface based on an inability to solder to the bare metal connection points on the input jack. I had to scratch the whole thing up with a tiny flathead screw driver with a piece of sandpaper taped over the end of it. It was very frustrating. Overall, I am happy with it but if I'm being honest, its still the color that was the reason I bought it and worked with it as long as I did to make it work. Otherwise, I would have just used a Switchcraft or AllParts input jack. Input Jacks aren't magic...as long as they are not made with cheap, thin metal, the connection prong is not bent out of sorts and the solder work is adequate, pretty much anything will do. I'm not sure if I would buy it again or not (unless I needed one that is black, then I would for sure). It's reasonably priced and it is a quality part, but there are so many other options that I have used that are similarly priced and so much easier to work with.

Outstanding Upgrade For ANY Electric Guitar For Just A Few Bucks!
I put this off for a year, now I regret waiting just a day - replacing the standard output jack with one of these is going to be considered mandatory in the future, why these arent stock on higher end guitars is a mystery to me - getting the benefits of a substantially more secure jack means more confidence in your gear, reduces or eliminates noise generated from the jack connection, and (subjectively, and quite possibly objectively*) improves the quality and tone of your raw guitar signal. Pretty basic packaging, these do not come with any instructions or anything, and you better know how to solder. Depending on your guitar, and how much slack is available in the wiring, installation can range from a simple 5 minute job to a frustrating chore if you don't have enough wire to work comfortably, however, the jack itself is not to blame for any issues here. It took me 25 minutes to get my tools together, take old jack out, solder new one on, and put the tools away, a minimal investment in time. Testing this new jack on my Les Paul (compatible!) I was immediately impressed by how snug and secure the cable connection felt. Turning on my amp (ubiquitous Stage Right 15W Tube Combo), I felt instant gratification with the lack of noise caused by the old jack, and my guitar never sounded better - but since this was not a scientific test, no oscilloscope or spectrum analysis, I have no idea if this was a placebo effect or not, but to me my guitar had more headroom, cleaner, clearer signal, and simply more tone across its full range. I rarely leave Amazon reviews, but felt this was a must have upgrade for every electric guitar player - at around $6 per guitar, if you or someone you know can do the soldering, the cost/benefit ratio can not be beat. A few bucks for an improved connection alone would be worth it, but the signal and sound quality improvement makes it a necessity in all my guitars now. From now on this will be the first upgrade I put in all my guitars! *According to test results on their site, these Pure Tone jacks show improved signal strength and less noise, but I have not seen any third party confirmation

Excellent. Don't buy for Active Basses
I bought this thinking I could fit them in my bass guitars which have active preamps... they don't work in them. These are only for Passive instruments. Having said that, the build quality on these is amazing. If you have passive instruments, I highly recommend them.

Say Goodbye to Loose Guitar Output Jacks!!
These are amazing. Swapping out all my old, loose guitar outputs with these. I don't wire the extra contacts, just use them to hold the cable more secure and keep them from wearing out as fast. Makes for a SOLID connection. Highly recommend.
