Amazing
Fabulous. I would only buy sonoff going forward. Great products that work well and a fraction of the price of the competitors

Relatively expensive but battery powered and easy to set up and use in Home Assistant
I have a couple of these and aside from the battery life, which can be abysmal if you haven't got a decent network setup, they'd prett nifty...I feel the price is a bit of a joke because honestly, there's no way on Earth that these scene switches cost even 30% of the price they're asking to manufacture. I think, personally, that they're cashing in on the Smart Home market and that of these cost £8, there would still be a very good margin in them for the manufacturer.Frankly if I could find a way to create a switch plate of my own, I have worked out that I can make an ESP version of this, with better functionality, for about £4!Anyway, chat aside, these things work well with home Assistant. You can flash them with alternate firmware, assuming you know how to do it, and they work well. With Tuya software and liked to Home Assistant via the local plugin, the respond quickly: injave other Tuya gear, bought before I knew what I was doing as regards Home Assistant, and those items have bad, bad, bad response times... I have a Tuya WiFi PIR for example that:A) eats batteries (2x AAA batteries last about 1 month). B) when triggered it takes 10 seconds to activate the light it's connected to.C) looks awful astheticalyHowever, these scene switches are a far cry from those devices thankfully. I find that scenes activate almost instant on my Home Assistant setup - I'm using a Sonoff dongle for zigbee connected to a virtual machine running on my Synology NAS.Build quality is ok: it's 100% plastic, nylon type soft white plastic. It takes a CR232 battery which, in the right place for a good signal, lasts about 15 months in my living room where it's used every day, several times a day, especially in winter. How long it will last I don't know, but the microswitches on the board seems reasonable quality. I think I could replace them if required... If the whole thing failed at least the case is usable as a housing for your own board if you're that way inclined. They are a bit expensive for what they are, but they do what they claim and work in Home Assistant without issue. They also work well in the Tuya app.

Limited Support, even from Sonoff
Product appears to have a very limited use case, working only to extend existing functionality provided by a M5/ MINIR4 / MNIR3 based environment. Unlike me(!) check compatibility before purchase - it does not work with many products, including products from Sonoff themselves. Not recommended for interfacing (directly or indirectly with eWeLink App) with platforms such as Home Assistant.

Will not connect to a Sonoff hub
This is designed to connect to another device such as an M5 wall switch, it's basically a remote for another device.I tried to pair directly to a Sonoff ZigBee hub and interestingly the hub detects the device but just refuses to add and save the device.Build quality was really good and the device looks stylish.Just a shame it wasn't fit for my purpose.

Does not work with Home Assistant Zigbee Integrations
Does not work with Home Assistant Zigbee Integrations.

Don’t bother.
Even though I have a number of M5 switches which the R5 should remotely control, the current version of the Ewe app is totally opaque about how to set it up - and bears no resemblance to the very brief instructions on the leaflet included with the device. A waste of time and money as it stands.

Not compatible with majority of setups
Ehh useless even with the Sonoff iHost multi platform hub, it is virtually useless….

Requires a compatible sonoff device to work
Despite the advert saying "works with" the device actually requires one of those devices. The ad is misleading and should say "requires". This device is basically a paper weight unless you have one of their compatible switches.
