Pyroflam Borosilicate Clear Glass Steamer Basket, 20cm, White

Hi, this item is of excellent manufacture! It is durable, it enables you to steam heat a vast variety of foods and produces perfectly steam-heated food every time. The only issue I would have is that is it mildly irritating to clean afterwards especially if you have not cleaned it or put it into soak in hot water with washing up liquid immediately. Which is what you must do! If you don't sometimes some of the food residue can stick to the holes and the rim and is hard to remove. As long as you look after this item and do not drop it on your tile floor it will last you for years!

I’d bought one of these as part of a Pyrex set with white saucepan and lid - as seen in the photo, some years ago, but it wasn’t enough to steam all the veg etc. I’d been looking for a non-plastic/ non-electric steamer that was hygienic .. but no luck. So when I saw these glass baskets on Amazon I was very pleased. I bought one but then realised I could use them with my stainless steel saucepans as well as the glass one. I first bought. The glass is quite thick and robust and it cooks food through very evenly and quickly. I now have 4 total . I don’t know if they sell the glass lids separately, but the stainless steel lids fitted perfectly. Now I can have 1 pan with 1-4 baskets or 2 pans with 1-2 baskets etc depending on what I’m steaming. Really effective and hygienic. They don’t smell once you’ve washed them unlike plastic which smells of old greens forever even after one use. You can hand wash or clean in the dishwasher. And they stack on my pan in the pantry for storage so don’t take up extra space. You can use an inner dish if you’re steaming fish, peas etc and as you can see in the phot,o, they’re quite deep. I’m very pleased - they’re just what I wanted, environmentally friendly, and a healthy effective way to cook vegetables ad fish etc as well as warming food up if, like me, you’re not into microwaving. You can also defrost food on a low flame . A very useful all round steamer.

This is one of the best purchase I have ever made! This product for this price sounds like a gift to me:) I used different steamers for many years, since I got this one I felt the difference! No more metalic flavour of the food, I can cook and leave it there for the night, reheat it the next day and have lunch. It is easy to wash it also :) Great!

I always like glass cookwares. So when I saw that this is actually a thing, I went to order it right away. Thing is heavy, but feels quality. I don't use a dishwasher. I find this slippery to clean, so need to be extra careful with that one. While it looks big, the space is actually wanting as the glass is thick. Still, I am happy with this product.

I like the size of this steamer as it fits quite a lot of vegetables and it fits and works perfectly for my medium sized pot. It's also pretty easy to clean which is important for me.

This is the third steamer of this type that I’ve bought so that I can keep vegetables separate. They fit together well and fit on my pan. The food tastes great in them. I have got a pressure cooker but I use these steamers to cook separate vegetables because some, like carrots, take longer and it would be a bit of a faff with a pressure cooker to let it depressurise and then tepressure it again. It’s also easier with these steamers to judge when the food is ready.

This is perfect for steaming your veg. Nice quality. So much easier than using a separate steamer . Simply put on top of the pan with the potatoes/rice or whatever and then cover with the pans lid. So easy!
