My First Day at Nursery School: A Back-To-School Story

I bought this beautiful book for my daughter (she is nearly 2 years old) in order to help her understand the concept of nursery and also to help her settle there. I believe it helped a little. The books tells how little girl and mum is going to the nursery/school, the showing the mum leaving it and waving to her daughter. The girl then takes teachers hand and going to play. Other pages shows how kids and the girl enjoying the time in the nursery(painting, playing, dancing, jumping, having lunch) and then mummy is coming back to collect her daughter. My daughter who just started speaking a little likes to read this book on her own, pointing at the pictures and saying mamma is back. I think it definitely helped her to understand what the nursery is about. I can highly recommend this book!

This book was perfect for my nursery children's first day.Didn't realise it would have American spelling but this obviously made no impact on the children.

My First Day at Nursery School book was ideal for my 4 year old starting school. Turned out he took it all in his stride, so perhaps the book wasn't needed after all.

I got this for my son just before he started nursery and read it to him almost every other night leading up to the start of nursery. Didn't realise the book was American and so I had to change a few of the words when reading it to him. It covers what they are likely to be doing during the day at nursery, illustrations are detailed colourful and bold. He was happy to notice they also had a copy of the same book in his nursery when he started too and he even chose to bring that copy home to read!!

My daughter loved "reading" this as she was going through the same stress when she started school and missed her mom. Great story.

I bought this for my 2 year-old granddaughter to help transition her transition her to daycare, and I think it helped her to have a better understanding of what would happen on her first days. The story is cute and easy to read. Definitely recommend!

This is a great book for a child thats worried about school. It validates their feeling and concerns of "I want my Mommy". Its story is about a little girl who goes off to nursery with her mom and as she begins she is wanting her mommy. But as she continues to see all the new things school has to offer she slowly stops saying I want my. . . and by the end she says she loved school and wants to go again. My son is very nervous about his first day and reading this book has helped him significantly.

this is a really great book , my 2.5-year-old can’t get enough of it . I bought it to help him with his fear of nursery school , but it didn’t do any change for us - Nevertheless, The story is well written, short simple sentences and great illustrations!
