I'm curious if this thing makes a lot of noise as the skaters are moving?

There is no noise when skating. Turn on the volume and then there will be laughter and chatter from the skaters. But these sounds are not annoying but merry.

How tall are the individual skaters?

Dont waste your money. It is junk. I had to return and reorder 3 times due to broken or missing pieces and non working motor. I finally gave up.

The rink itself measures 13”x 11” and then with figurines added it is approximately 7” tall
