Comprehensive Review: Moiswell 145 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier ... It's a Beast!
After dealing with persistent humidity issues in our crawl space, we decided it was time for an upgrade. Our previous dehumidifier, while functional for smaller spaces, proved inadequate for the demands of our larger, more humid crawl space. After some research, we opted for the Moiswell 145 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier, and it has been a game-changer. Installation & Initial Impressions Installing the Moiswell dehumidifier was straightforward. We mounted it securely onto the joists, a placement that not only keeps the unit out of the way but also allows for optimal airflow. The unitโs design is robust and feels like itโs built to last, which was one of the first things we noticed upon unpacking it. Once installed, we turned the unit on and monitored the humidity levels closely. At 10:30 AM, the humidity was a concerning 89%, which had been typical of our crawl space, contributing to issues like musty odors and potential mold growth. By 8 PM the same day, the Moiswell had already brought the humidity down to 64%, and by the following day at noon, it had further decreased to 59%. The rapid reduction in humidity was impressive and far exceeded our expectations based on past experiences with other dehumidifiers. Performance & Efficiency We set the target humidity level to 55%, and the Moiswell unit has been working diligently to maintain this level. The built-in hygrometer appears accurate and responsive, adjusting the unit's operation as needed to maintain the set humidity. The continuous drainage option is particularly convenient; with the drain hose attached, the unit consistently removes moisture from the air without the need for manual emptying. This feature is crucial for a space like ours, where high humidity is a constant issue. Noise Level One of our biggest concerns with a commercial-grade dehumidifier was noise. Given its powerful performance, we were prepared to tolerate some level of noise. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the Moiswell runs incredibly quietly. Itโs so unobtrusive that we often forget itโs even on. This low noise level is a significant advantage, especially for those who have the unit installed in areas close to living spaces. Overall Satisfaction & Recommendation After using the Moiswell 145 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier for several weeks, we can confidently say that it has exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The humidity levels in our crawl space are now consistently within our desired range, and the air feels noticeably drier and fresher. The peace of mind that comes from knowing our space is protected from excess moisture is invaluable. In summary, if youโre dealing with a similar situation where humidity control is critical, the Moiswell 145 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier is a top-notch solution. Itโs effective, efficient, and quiet, making it an excellent choice for both residential and commercial applications. We are extremely satisfied with its performance to date and feel that it fully deserves a 5-star rating.

"Outstanding Build, Performance & Support โ A True Commercial-Grade Dehumidifier That Delivers!"
I live in upstate New York, where winters can get brutally cold. My home is insulated with spray foam, which makes it extremely energy efficient but also very tight โ meaning humidity tends to get trapped inside. During the winter, I began noticing condensation and even frost forming on my windows. At first, I tried solving it with an energy recovery ventilator (ERV). While that helped exchange stale air, it didnโt fix the humidity problem. After doing some research, I decided to go with a commercial-grade dehumidifier instead of the small units most people use in their basements here in the Northeast. Thatโs when I found the Moiswell 145 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier on amazon, and I couldnโt be happier with the results. The build quality of this unit is exceptional. From the solid construction to the clean, professional finishes, everything about it feels first class. The unit was packaged extremely well โ the box and internal protection were excellent โ and everything arrived in perfect condition. Installation was a breeze. I chose the version without the condensate pump since I was able to tie directly into my existing condensate drain from the air conditioning system, and it drains perfectly. You can tell the Moiswell is built with serious attention to detail and quality. Once installed in my temperature-controlled attic space, I set up a few Wi-Fi hygrometers to track humidity levels. Within just a few hours of turning the unit on, I saw a rapid reduction in humidity, and itโs maintained ideal levels ever since. My condensation and frost issues disappeared almost immediately. Behind the intake filter on the Moiswell, you can actually see the evaporator coil, and when the unit is running, you can literally watch the water wicking off the coil โ it works that well. The airflow is also impressive. It moves a huge volume of air, ensuring the entire attic space is evenly conditioned, not just one small area. I had a few questions during my initial installation and reached out to Moiswellโs customer support. They were absolutely fantastic. Big shoutout to Aya, who was incredibly helpful, patient, and responsive. Itโs rare these days to find a company that not only makes a great product but also backs it up with world-class service โ Moiswell truly does both. I give the Moiswell 145 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier 5+ stars across the board. Itโs powerful, beautifully built, easy to install, and backed by an excellent team. Iโve already recommended this unit to my neighbor after showing him how happy I was with it. If you live in a tightly sealed, spray-foam-insulated home and struggle with excess humidity or condensation โ especially in cold climates โ this is absolutely the solution youโve been looking for. Worth every penny and then some!

Great product and great service
Ez to setup and significantly reduces humidity in a near 1000ft radius. I bought it for a basement with rare books and collectibles sensitive to humidity. I also had the first one I ordered stop working, and Moiswell customer service sent me a new one, free of charge. Excellent service and product, worth the extra $300 versus a typical room only dehumidifier.

Excellent dehumidifier (so far). UPDATE - expensive to run!
UPDATE 08/21/25 After running this dehumidifier for a full month, we received our first electric bill. To my surprise our bill was a good 25% higher than "normal" for this time of year! 25% is huge! In fact, it was the highest we had ever had in the past decade while owning this house! In addition, for 2 weeks of the month, our temps and humidity were actually significantly lower than average. Therefore, I expected the impact of this unit to have a minimal effect on the power bill! During this time, nothing else was different in our electricity usage other than we were using this dehumidifier, so I am confident the increase was due to running this unit. It did (does) keep the humidity level at the 50% set point, but it seemed to run almost constantly. In order to try to lower our costs, I have increased the humidity level set point 5% to 55%. We have noticed that the unit now cycles on and off more frequently, and we are hopeful this will lower our monthly cost. How much remains to be seen. Just be aware you may have significantly higher electrical costs while using this dehumidifier. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We live in an extremely humid area. We have used standard consumer type dehumidifiers in the past, but they always seem to break down within 3-5 years. We got tired of replacing them, so decided to try something more expensive that is designed for more heavy duty use. Since this is designed for crawl spaces, we thought this might be a good choice for the inside of our home. While this does not affect the rating for this unit, I do have to mention that delivery was terrible. This is very heavy, and I heard and felt the "thump" when it hit the porch. Looking at my Ring doorbell, I saw they basically dropped it onto the porch. Not only that, it was upside down, despite the warnings on the box to keep it upright! Luckily, the unit does not seem to have suffered any ill effects from the abuse it took during shipping/delivery. The first thing I did was to turn the unit upright, and allow it to sit for 24 hours to let the Freon settle. Failure to do so can introduce air bubbles into the line which can cause problems with the compressor. Similar to an air bubble in a vein when it gets to the heart. I made sure to message the seller/manufacturer about the delivery, and they sent me specific instructions about startup to insure there were no issues. After installing the drain hose, I plugged it in, and set the humidity at 20%. This caused the unit to run continuously so we could test it was working properly. At the time it was started, the room temp was 78ยฐ at 61% humidity. It took around 1/2 an hour for us to see water start to trickle from the drain hose. 6 hours later, the humidity was at 53%, and got stuck there for the next 2 days. When the humidity finally hit our preferred level at 50%, we changed the set point to 47%. That has been keeping an approx. 1800 sq. ft. space at an average of 50% for almost 2 weeks now. Be advised, this unit has no collection bucket, or pump. It has a gravity drain only, so you need to elevate the unit at least a few inches off the ground, and run the hose to a floor drain or outside (or external pump if you have one ie. sump pump). The hose they provide is quite long, but can be cut to length. However, it is on the thin side, and can be crushed easily. This is my only negative with this unit. The drain is a simple push on type, and does not have a screw-on garden hose connector. I would prefer to use a garden hose as it is stronger, and will not crush if stepped on. I have passed this suggestion on to the seller. This dehumidifier has been running now for almost 2 weeks, and it is working flawlessly. Our home is much more comfortable, and it feels like the A/C is not working as hard. That could just be the optimist in me talking though, as I have no hard facts to back that up. This unit does take up more floor space than others we have had, but it's worth it if it continues to keep us comfortable. The 2/5 year warranty is also reassuring. I do want to mention that the seller/manufacturer has been extremely responsive. They have provided us with recommendations that have been very helpful. They respond to questions quickly and with detailed answers. I can't speak more highly of their customer support. It gives me reassurance they will be there if there are any problems in the future.

Removes huge amounts of water, first one failed, company actually stood behind and replaced
Removes a serious amount of water. Dropped my entire humidity problem house's RH % by nearly 20 and holds it there. Only downside was that the first unit I got had a compressor failure a few months into ownership. To my full and complete surprise, the company responded quickly to my request for replacement and after showing them photos proving the problem and giving information about the installation they simply shipped me a replacement. I really thought I'd be out of luck but these guys stand behind the thing despite how expensive it must be to ship. New one is a month in and doing great, dumping the same large amounts of water out. Here's to hoping it lasts. of the lesser known name units on amazon, this is a company that at least seems to care and stand behind the product. Color me pleasantly surprised.

Excellent performance and very quiet!
This product is excellent! We live in a very humid area and were constantly combating the humidity level in our home. We decided to give the Moiswell dehumidifier a try and installed it in our attic. The two handles on the unit made it easy to lift into the attic and the installation was straightforward and simple. Due to where we decided to place the unit, we needed a little extra drain hose, so we went to our local hardware store to buy a longer hose. After installing, we set the unit to the desired humidity level and it took a few hours for it to reach our desired level. Once it reached the level, it automatically shut off and will restart when the humidity level rises. There is no fuss, no checking needed, and no need to empty a container full of water! As an added bonus, the unit is very quiet. From the living area of the house, we cannot hear it running. We would definitely recommend this product!

Amazing customer service
I purchased this dehumidifier to help keep moisture levels down in my relatively small house during the shoulder months of the year where I live (South Texas). It gets extremely humid outside, which infiltrates into the house in a variety of ways, but there's no real cooling load in the house that would trigger my central AC to turn on and dehumidify. I initially bought the unit in late May, but since summer was in full swing by the time I received it, we did not have any humidity problems and I put off installing it until November. Well, come this fall, the humidity returned with a vengeance so I set out to permanently install this in an upstairs closet in my house. I set it up temporarily to do some emergency moisture removal, and immediately noticed that it was giving me an incorrect reading on temperature and humidity. The compressor would turn on for a few seconds and then shut off quickly, not able to do any real dehumidification. Even when setting to the constant dehumidification mode, it was not doing its job keeping the house dry. I reached out to their customer support on a Saturday morning and they responded the same day. After some back and forth emails, I was able to get them information and pictures and they quickly determined that there was an issue with the unit itself. I did not even have to ask, they immediately offered either a full refund or to ship me a new unit at no cost. I chose the new unit because I still wanted to resolve my humidity issue. I had the new unit by the following Saturday, set it up, and it has been working great! The unit itself appears to be well built and well thought out. There are removable panels that allow access to the evaporator coil and the controls/compressor. The control panel is simple and easy to read and operate. It does also come with a collar for ducting which I needed in my application. Make sure that when it is installed that there are no kinks or traps in the drain line as that can inhibit the drainage flow. I am extremely impressed with Moiswell's customer service and dedication to consumer satisfaction, and the dehumidifier has been doing its job as intended. Happy customer here!

-Died after 5 months. THEY STOOD BEHIND IT AND REPLACED IT! THAT ONE DIED TOO!!!
UPDATE 1 year later: 6/21/2024. Although Moiswell sent me another at no charge, it too has died. It is still within warranty. UPDATE-although it died prematurely, I contacted Moiswell, and they stood behind their product. After a few simple tests, they confirmed a malfunction, and SENT ME A NEW ONE AT NO CHARGE!!! They were very good to work with and really responsive. Its been running perfectly for a couple of months now, and I am very happy with its performance. Thank you Moiswell! Purchased the Moiswell Defender M145 to replace a "consumer cabinet" style dehumidifier from Whirlpool. The Whirlpool machine lasted 3.5 year. The Defender M145 lasted about 5 months. The Defender M145 looked to be a stronger machine that would last longer. The room it is dehumidifying is a 20'x20'x9' storage room attached to our house (think garage, but with only person sized doors). It should be well within the M145's capabilities. It sits on a stand with plenty of ventilation around it (2-4' on all sides) and drains to a condensate pump located under it. The room stays between about 70 and 90 F. It is an ideal installation. I installed it in April. It stopped working in September. While it was working, it easily kept the room at 50% humidity without running continuously. It turned on and off throughout the day as expected. Now, the fan just runs, constantly. It is set at 50%, the room is 65%+ humidity, the "compressor indicator light" and fan lights are lit, but it no longer draws water from the air. The drain port is dry, and no water is dripping from it. it is basically just a fan now. They say they have a "RISK FREE, 2-Year Full, 5-Year Limited" warrantee. I spent a lot for this machine, and expected it to last longer that the older "consumer cabinet" style humidifier it replaced. I cant afford for this room to get too humid. They advertise this machine being able to keep much larger crawl spaces dry. I have done everything recommended in the manual but it did not help. I have just emailed them on 10/5/2024 about this issue. Unless they come back with a really fast permanent solution, I would not recommend this machine or company. I will update this review when I hear from them.
