Homein Window Film Privacy, Frosted Window Film Cross Pattern, 90x200cm

This is my first attempt at using window film. I chose this product based on the positive reviews and I have not been disappointed. I wanted mirror film for 2 reasons. The first was to try to reduce heat in my living room, which is south facing and gets very hot due to an entire wall of glass. The other reason was to provide some privacy from passers by using an adjacent public footpath. I can say that I think I have achieved both goals. I do have mobility issues and really was not sure if I would be able to install this film, but with patience, I have managed it. The film itself comes wrapped around a cardboard inner, BUT it isn’t actually stuck to or attached to the tube, so as soon as I started to open it, because it is quite slippery, the tube fell out and the whole roll seemed to unravel. So be aware. Subsequently I found it easier to open and start to unroll on a flat surface. The film itself has a small amount of rigidly, but I also found it creased easily and once creased, it won’t come out and it will show when applied to the glass. That said, it’s not massively noticeable unless you know it’s there or look for it and from the outside, it doesn’t really show at all. I read the instructions carefully and started with the smallest pane. I found holding the film in place over the window with masking tape allowed me to trim the film to roughly the window size. Peeling off the backing was a little challenging but manageable and I found pulling back a little at a time seemed to work best. The instructions say to use lots of water on the glass and the sticky side of the film, which I did and then applied the film in stages, working from the top down, trying to make sure each section had adhered to the glass before pulling away more backing and spraying and repeating. This seemed to work ok but I did find it time consuming to then try to remove all the air bubbles using a credit card as suggested. I then had the idea of adding a few drops of washing up liquid to the water and this made things much easier when applying the second piece. It made it easier to manoeuvre and adjust the film and also seemed to make it easier to remove air bubbles using a squeegee window cleaner. I found applying steady pressure and working slowly from the middle to the sides seemed to get rid of most of the bubbles and excess water. I also found using LOTS of water made the job easier, but you have to be prepared to use towels to catch the excess, which does seem to go everywhere. I trimmed the excess film using a ruler and a sharp blade. This did prove fiddly and I made a few mistakes, sometimes cutting into the rubber surround of the double glazing. What I found was if you can manage to cut the film so it is slightly smaller than the glass it is applied to, that helps the excess water and air to escape, otherwise it seems to get trapped. Overall, I found this film to be good quality and fairly easy to manage and handle. Cutting it roughly to size before applying is definitely helpful. Using lots of water with a few drops of washing up liquid makes the job easier. A couple of times the film creased by adhering to the glass before I could wet it and that has left a few lines, but for a first attempt, I’m quite pleased and I have definitely noticed a difference in keeping the room cooler as well as giving me privacy from passers by. So I would have to recommend this film as I feel if I can do it, anyone should be able to do the same.

Absolutely impressed with this window film. The difference is noticeable immediately — the kitchen stays significantly cooler even during strong summer heat, and the unbearable greenhouse effect is gone. My French doors no longer expand or become difficult to open and close in hot weather. The installation was easier than expected, and the final result looks sleek and professional. The heat reduction effect is truly impeccable and has made the whole space far more comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended.

It's not bad to be fair, it looks good and easy to apply althou when I did it had alot of bubbles so the Mrs sorted it out, only bad thing I would say is for 9.99 you should get a big more I have 3 windows in my kitchen and it was only enough to fill 2 windows and a half. So had to get another one.

Great stuff and looking great

I’ve not been asked to write this review or have been prompted. Just wanted to genuinely say this is probably the best privacy glass you’re going to find. You need to be logical, and understand that it’s effect works incredibly well during the day, but at night you will need a blind or at least a curtain drawn as it does not work as well. But for the price this is well worth it and does do the job very well. Much, much easier if you make it a two person job. Make sure you measure window dimensions first and use scissors or a blade to cut the film. It’s pretty easy to install if you follow the instructions. Don’t obsess too much over air bubbles.

I’m usually pretty good at DIY and have successfully accomplished many different projects over the years. However, applying this film to the windows was a time consuming challenge with a not very good outcome! I did my research, read many reviews, followed the instructions and process and used all the correct tools that this particular adhesive film didn’t come with. I had my daughter to assist me, which is a must in my opinion, unless you are a professional in the practice of painting/ decorating etc. The technique is similar to putting a screen saver on your mobile phone but on a larger scale. If you are the type of person who can put it on first time with no air bubbles then you might find this easier than I did. The reason for purchasing the film is to stop the neighbours from snooping in to my daughter’s bedroom. Cameras are everywhere in my neighbourhood and although they shouldn’t be pointed at people’s property, they are around my area. My daughter wants to open her curtains during the day and this allows her to feel safe and comfortable to do so. Well the outcome is reflected in the 3 stars that I gave. The actual product is really good, it’s cheaper than others on Amazon but it doesn’t come with the extras. The window adhesive film is up and running but with many creases and air bubbles. My 34 year old daughter had a go too and the outcome she achieved was similar to her 62 year old mum! She can still see out, the neighbours can’t see in, so although we were no where near perfection, it still does the job! Reviews encouraged using a lot of water, I didn’t agree with this. Don’t be too heavy handed with your water spray, a smaller amount is sufficient……… Good luck!

Great item, it helped reduce the heat from my south facing flat that constantly gets hit by the sun. It's been getting really warm as of late and I've been looking for ways to dull it

Such a nightmare to put on the window maybe better with 2 people. Wasnt the best for cutting either because it would separate from the backing paper and then tear. I applied to a kitchen window and there were so many bubbles that were very difficult to get out. It also creased w which you could notice on the outside of the window. I unfortunately put it on the window and binned it the same day. I bought different privacy film for my patio doors which I applied myself effortlessly which was thicker and easier to work with.

Wir haben uns diese Milchglasfolie am 31.01.2020 in der Größe 44,5 x 200cm zu einem Preis von 11,99 € bestellt. Wir haben sie genutzt, um für unser Badezimmerfenster, welches im Erdgeschoss liegt und durch Fußgänger einsehbar ist, einen Sichtschutz zu haben. Die Anbringung war super einfach und schnell erledigt. Allerdings bietet es keinen 100%igen Sichtschutz, da nicht alle Streifen in Milchglasoptik sind. Ich habe euch drei aktuelle Bilder angehängt, eines bei Tageslicht mit Sicht von Bad nach außen und eines bei Nacht mit Licht im Bad von außen nach innen 😊 Auch nach über einem Jahr hält die Folie noch super am Fenster und das trotz kleinem Bad und regelmäßig hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit durch heißes Duschen. Es hat sich lediglich am Rand die Folie ein wenig gelöst, aber steht nicht ab und hält noch super. Pro: - sehr schönes und modernes Design - langlebig - spielend leichte Anbringung - super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis Contra: - nicht sehr umfangreiche Größenauswahl - nicht zu 100% blickdicht Fazit: Auch nach über einem Jahr sind wir noch immer sehr zufrieden mit dieser Folie und würden sie wieder kaufen. Über die nicht 100%ige Blickdichte sind wir uns ja jetzt im Klaren. Daher gibt es eine uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung und 5 Sterne von uns! Facilísimo de instalar y queda precioso. De momento, parece que la adhesión es impecable. Si con el paso de los días hay cambios, actualizaré el comentario. Pero, de momento, contentísima con la compra.
