Meet young Tammy, a homespun Mississippi gal who, in the course of her first extraordinary adventure, teaches a sophisticated bachelor (Leslie Nielsen) about love, an uptight Southern town about fun, and a modern family about happiness. Tammy Tell Me True: The adventures of Tammy continue in college, where the worldly-wise small-town gal helps a broken-hearted artist paint a happy future, teaches a haughty heiress that the Golden Rule is more precious than gold, and finds true love with a shy, handsome young professor. Golden Globe winner Sandra Dee proves that Tammy is more than just another fish out of water in this charming and touching comedy. Tammy and the Doctor: Sandra Dee returns as the irrepressible Tammy in the enchanting third feature. It’s fun at a fever pitch as Tammy turns “nurse” in Los Angeles, hilariously turning a hospital upside down, treating patients with homemade brews and potions and, of course, falling in mad love with a handsome young surgeon (Peter Fonda). Bonus Content: Disc 1 - Tammy and the Bachelor Review: 3 Movies - 2 DVDs - So a lot of 1, 2, 3, and even 4 star reviewers complained about only having received 2 DVDs instead of 3. Same for me! I called desertcart to make a return, but as I was speaking to the Rep and reading the titles on the DVDs, I realized one of the DVDs has two movies. In fact, clicking on the pictures on the item at desertcart, you'll see a pic showing ONLY 2 DVDs. Anyway, enough of that! The three movies are great! I enjoyed them as a little girl and still enjoy them. On the downside, the videos are not that good because they are a hint fuzzy. Last comment: great movies (esp. Tammy Tell Me True) for children...innocent like the 1950s & 1960s Disney movies without the witchcraft. Highly recommend! Review: Got three movies after all! - Oops! Just submitted a too star review and want to update. There are two disks, but three movies. Sorry I overlooked this. All good now and ready to enjoy all three movies. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Contributor | April Kent, Cid Ricketts Sumner, Craig Hill, Debbie Reynolds, Fay Wray, Harry Keller, Joseph Pevney, Leslie Nielsen, Louise Beavers, Mala Powers, Mildred Natwick, Oscar Brodney, Philip Ober, Ralph Brooks, Sidney Blackmer, Walter Brennan Contributor April Kent, Cid Ricketts Sumner, Craig Hill, Debbie Reynolds, Fay Wray, Harry Keller, Joseph Pevney, Leslie Nielsen, Louise Beavers, Mala Powers, Mildred Natwick, Oscar Brodney, Philip Ober, Ralph Brooks, Sidney Blackmer, Walter Brennan See more | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 3,052 Reviews | | Format | Box set, Color, Multiple Formats, NTSC, Widescreen | | Genre | Comedy | | Initial release date | 2008-02-05 | | Language | English | ## Product Details - **Genre:** Comedy - **Format:** Box set, Color, Multiple Formats, NTSC, Widescreen - **Contributor:** April Kent, Cid Ricketts Sumner, Craig Hill, Debbie Reynolds, Fay Wray, Harry Keller, Joseph Pevney, Leslie Nielsen, Louise Beavers, Mala Powers, Mildred Natwick, Oscar Brodney, Philip Ober, Ralph Brooks, Sidney Blackmer, Walter Brennan - **Initial release date:** 2008-02-05 - **Language:** English ## Images ![Tammy and the Bachelor / Tammy Tell Me True / Tammy and the Doctor Triple Feature - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71TxYerDwSL.jpg) ![Tammy and the Bachelor / Tammy Tell Me True / Tammy and the Doctor Triple Feature - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71neqc-hBuL.jpg) ![Tammy and the Bachelor / Tammy Tell Me True / Tammy and the Doctor Triple Feature - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71qObhcdd-L.jpg) ![Tammy and the Bachelor / Tammy Tell Me True / Tammy and the Doctor Triple Feature - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71n91gaTVjL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3 Movies - 2 DVDs *by T***W on July 8, 2024* So a lot of 1, 2, 3, and even 4 star reviewers complained about only having received 2 DVDs instead of 3. Just submitted a too star review and want to update. There are two disks, but three movies. Sorry I overlooked this. All good now and ready to enjoy all three movies. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ delightful viewing! *by B***N on March 11, 2008* What a delight it is to see the Debbie Reynolds charmer TAMMY AND THE BACHELOR finally on DVD, packaged with the two sequels starring Sandra Dee (TAMMY TELL ME TRUE and TAMMY AND THE DOCTOR). While Sandra Dee made the character of Tammy one of her most fondly-remembered, it's Debbie Reynolds who truly owns the role. In the classic original TAMMY AND THE BACHELOR (filmed in 1957 and based on the book by Mrs Cid Ricketts Sumner), we first meet Tambrey "Tammy" Tyree, the backwoods girl who falls in love with handsome Peter Brent (Leslie Nielsen) after his plane crashes near her home. When her grandfather is arrested for bootlegging, cow-eyed Tammy follows Peter back to his family estate, where her rustic, homespun values get her into a mess of trouble. The movie is best-known for it's Academy Award-nominated song ("Tammy") written by Jay Livingston, sung over the main titles by the Ames Brothers, and later reprised in the film itself by Debbie Reynolds. The cast also boasts Mildred Natwick, Fay Wray, Walter Brennan and Mala Powers. TAMMY TELL ME TRUE was released a few years later in 1961. With Debbie Reynolds unable to reprise the role, Universal contract starlet Sandra Dee took over for the continuing adventures of Tammy. Wanting to experience a proper education, Tammy takes her houseboat down the river and enrols at Seminola College. There, she warms the heart of crusty widow Mrs Annie Call (Beulah Bondi) and falls head over heels for teacher Mr Freeman (John Gavin). Look closely for Dee's "Imitation of Life" costar Juanita Moore; plus Julia Meade and Virginia Grey. Finally in TAMMY AND THE DOCTOR (1963), Sandra Dee returns as Tammy, with her object of affection (the doctor of the title) played by an up-and-coming Peter Fonda. When Mrs Call becomes seriously ill, Tammy accompanies her interstate to a large Los Angeles hospital. As per usual, Tammy's plain-speaking ways get her into all sorts of strife; as she finds herself falling for handsome intern Mark Cheswick (Peter Fonda). A dubbed Sandra Dee also gets to recreate the original "Tammy" title song in this movie. Co-starring Macdonald Carey, Margaret Lindsay, Reginald Owen and Alice Pearce. This is a top value DVD collection. TAMMY AND THE BACHELOR is presented in it's original CinemaScope ratio with splendid colour. The two sequels are located on the second disc (both discs are dual-layer format). Extra features are limited to original trailers for "Bachelor" and "Doctor". ## Frequently Bought Together - Tammy and the Bachelor / Tammy Tell Me True / Tammy and the Doctor (Triple Feature) - The Complete Gidget Collection (Gidget / Gidget Goes Hawaiian / Gidget Goes to Rome) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/5244516-tammy-and-the-bachelor-tammy-tell-me-true-tammy-doctor](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/5244516-tammy-and-the-bachelor-tammy-tell-me-true-tammy-doctor) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
