Contamination problem solved. Only 1 bad jar out of like 120. I put one filter on each side of vent hole for double protection. Have reused 4 times and counting

A very bad review: these are terrible and worthless! I use the full sized 2 micron synthetic filter discs that fit under plastic lids on glass mason jars now and have no troubles with those. Don't try this, use full sized filters instead for excellent success and reusability, and two microns is the needed filtration, not two and a half.

These are not permeable. Minimum air exchange. barely work as intended.Get the filter discs with the patterned surface, not these.
