Revolt in the Desert: The Abridged Edition of Seven Pillars of Wisdom

Wherever the book mark is left I never pick up the book without reading again the opening paragraphs: priceless!Anyone who has served in the middle east will see history repeating itself yet again. "....are worth the life of one English Tommy" Is a repeated comment of Lawrence,not said lightly and should be borne in mind in today's difficult times. Modern day Lawrences will no doubt be assassinated too for trying to put across this simple but politically incorrect warnig.We ignore them at our peril but ignore them we will while oil is so valuable.What a book!

Superb reading

Abridged edition makes studying much easier of a very complex subject.

An excellent read.Recommend it. Decided to read this as an abridged version of his Seven Pillars of Wisdom which I felt might have more detail. I will follow up with reading the Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

A very exciting account. Descriptions of the desert are atmospheric.
