Perimenopause is a funny thing… one day you’re wearing your jcrew chino shorts and everything is great, the next everything doesn’t fit right, it feels too tight, you can’t wear an underwire anymore, you’re sweating through allof your clothes constantly, and you feel like waving the white flag of being a social recluse. All without changing anything in the way you eat, activity level, sleep habits, it’s just *poof!* everything is annoying, irritates you, and you have an overwhelming urge to speak to the manager! To add insult to injury, the challenge is to find clothing that is cooler to wear, moisture wicking, allows you to still move comfortably, but has some structure so you don’t look like a rumpled, sweaty slob. This is especially true if you live in warmer and more humid climates.I regularly wear an 8/10. I’m an athletic build and very active. I ended up going to a 16 to ensure that if these shorts are laundered incorrectly and it shrinks, it’s still wearable. Going this far up on the side ensures it’s not too tight, putting emphasis on everything I want to divert attention from, it skims and has stretch, and still looks presentable and I’m not dressing in haphazardly large clothing.Another added plus - the pockets on these are great. If you are anything like me, you always have phone and earbuds in your hand or close by. I can use the zipper pocket and make sure my AirPods are safe, the pockets are deep enough to actually keep your phone in your pockets if you squat down, that you’re not constantly doing the 5-pat pat down to make sure you didn’t lose anything at any random point in time.Order several sizes above your regular size and you should be good. Other than the sizing, I highly recommend.

Nice fabric and quality. I ordered my regular size 12 and the first pair of black shorts were snug but looked OK. I liked them so much that I ordered them in 2 other colors but the sizing on these were smaller. So I ordered a 14 hoping it wouldn't be too big and they honestly were just slightly bigger than the 12's. The 14 is still snug but the button was easier to close. I like the fit and the styling is flattering. I don't like long shorts so these are perfect length at upper thigh. I am 64 and 5' 9.5" and I certainly don't care about having shorty shorts. I think they make your legs look longer.

These are comfortable, fit as expected, and have really nice pockets. I like the zipper one especially. They are nice and lightweight, as well, and are nice summer walking/hiking shorts. However, they are noisy. They swish when you walk. Everyone will know you're coming when you wear these. Nonetheless, I really like them and will wear them a lot, I'm sure. They're high-quality, just a bit rustlely!

These are the best shorts I have ever bought. I bought every color! They are sporty but can be dressed up. The quality is what sold me. They are durable and do not shrink on a low dry tumble. No ironing needed and, they dry quickly when they get wet. Fit as expected.

I ordered the khaki colored shorts size 6 a few days ago, loved them! I am 5’3, 140lbs. They fit like no other shorts did. I decided to order the green ones and to my disappointment, they were to small. I checked the tags on both to compare and confirmed they were in fact different sizes despite them both showing size 6. Not sure which one is the true size 6. Returned the green one right away.

Material is actually pretty comfortable. Has nice pockets. Looks good i get compliments. Medium thickness. Pretty versatile.

I got them in the mail today and put them right in. True to fit, midrise, has some stretch but not much. I love these shorts. I typically have the hardest time finding shorts that fit right and don’t ride up. I’m a fat bottom girl haha I put them on right away and headed outside to clean out my garage. Lots of bending, moving and squatting. I think I adjusted my shorts out of habit but I didn’t really need to. Will buy more!

I’m an avid walker and these fit well with zero climbing (if you know what I mean). The material is lightweight and quick drying. The pockets are handy and the waistband sits just as pictured. They’re well made.

Very nice and comfortable shorts. Material is light and stretchy. Only comment is that sizing may be off. I bought a 4 and a 6 (wasn't sure which would fit) and there was no difference between the two sizes; they fit exactly the same. I kept the 4.

I bought a size up, as recommended by other reviews, and they were loose enough for me to carry my phone and a small wallet in the front pockets. These shorts are comfortable for hikes and stylish enough to wear to a lunch out with friends.
