More than just a guide
A great book to plan any trip to the Olympics — and is there any place better to go? Informative and interesting even if you are not likely to take all these hikes.

Did the Author Proofread This?
Just spent $35 for this guidebook and it doesn't have a single map (who does that with a guidebook?) and numerous typos throughout. When there is no evidence of author proofreading such basic stuff, and not a single map, I am concerned about the quality of the information. And the price was $35! Not recommended at all.

having a good map is a MUST
It was poorly organized with no maps. Minor typos and the binding blocked some of the words in the front pages. The glossary was incomplete and made it hard to look up names and trails. Lacking the altitude maps made it tough to gauge on the trail how much farther we still had to go and how to pace ourselves. While the book was accurate and got us adequately through the park we were frustrated on more than one occasion. Without internet in much of the park, having a good map is a MUST. We hike over 55 miles in 7 days, so we were looking for a better resource.

Good information that is not available on line.
Glad we got it.
