Review: Good product w - Worth the price Review: Excellent keyboard for writers - I had been told that the Razer Ornata V3 was one of the best keyboards on the market for writers. I've tried every other imaginable brand (including the Big 3), but never found a keyboard that was as precise, fast, and responsive as I demanded. So, I tried this keyboard, and it's perfect for me. I like it so much I intend to buy 2 more and put them into storage because I just know this model is eventually going to be discontinued, and I really don't want to be without this brand of keyboard again. I'm not a gamer, so I can't tell you what it's like for that purpose, but for my writing, this keyboard has been a godsend. Not only does it allow you a certain amount of lighting customization (not as much as Razer's "Chroma" lines, but pretty good, and far superior to other writing keyboards), but it also allows the use of macros, which, in writing, can be very handy if you tend to use unusual symbols or repetitive text. It has a sleep function on the keyboard, and I've reassigned another key to Hibernate through use of macros. Overall, this keyboard is an outstanding value. I can't say you'll be as pleased with it as I am if you're a writer, but it's definitely worth a try if you haven't yet found your "ideal writing keyboard". ## Features - LOW-PROFILE KEYS β€” With slimmer keycaps and shorter switches, enjoy natural hand positioning that allows for long hours of use with little strain - MECHA-MEMBRANE SWITCHES β€” Fusing the snappy, clicky feedback of a mechanical switch with the familiar feel of a conventional keyboard, each keystroke is as satisfying as it is precise - UV-COATED KEYCAPS β€” More durable than regular keycaps, the UV coating ensures more fade-resistant legends and greater protection against wear and tear from frequent use - BACKLIT DEDICATED MEDIA KEYS β€” Configure them to pause, play, skip and adjust everything from brightness to volume for ultimate convenience - MAGNETIC SOFT TOUCH WRIST REST β€” Designed to seamlessly snap to the keyboard, the soft-touch wrist rest provides ample comfort and support for the wrists that is vital during long periods of use - 10-ZONE RAZER CHROMA RGB LIGHTING β€” With 16.8 million colors and a suite of effects to choose from, personalize the keyboard and get access to dynamic lighting effects for hundreds of Chroma-integrated games - RAZER SNAP TAP β€” Enjoy truly responsive in-game movement via Razer Synapse 4 by prioritizing the latest input between a pair of assigned keys; Snap Tap is OFF by default and can be toggled ON/OFF in Razer Synapse - PC GAMING PERIPHERALS BRAND IN THE U.S. β€” Source β€” Circana, Retail Tracking Service, U.S., Dollar Sales, Gaming Designed Mice, Keyboards, and PC Headsets, Jan. 2019- Dec. 2023 combined ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09X6FKCBD | | Antenna Location | Gaming | | Box Contents | Keyboard, Magnetic Soft-Touch Wrist Rest, USB Cable | | Brand | Razer | | Brand Name | Razer | | Button Quantity | 19 | | Colour | Black | | Compatible Devices | PC | | Connectivity Technology | Wired USB | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,050 Reviews | | Enclosure Material | ABS Plastic | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 44.3L x 14.4W x 3.1H Centimeters | | Item Type Name | PC Gaming Keyboard | | Item Weight Unit of Measure | 3.1 Pounds | | Keyboard Backlighting Color Support | RGB | | Keyboard Description | Gaming | | Keyboard Layout | QWERTY | | Language | English | | Manufacturer | Razer Inc. | | Manufacturer Part Number | RZ03-04460200-R3U1 | | Model Name | Ornata V3 | | Model Number | RZ03-04460200-R3U1 | | Number of Keys | 104 | | Number of Sections | 10 | | Power Source | Corded Electric | | Product Features | 10-Zone RGB Lighting, Backlit Media Keys, Low-Profile Key, Mecha-Membrane Switches, UV-Coated Keycaps, Wrist Rest | | Recommended Uses For Product | Gaming | | Special Feature | 10-Zone RGB Lighting, Backlit Media Keys, Low-Profile Key, Mecha-Membrane Switches, UV-Coated Keycaps, Wrist Rest Special Feature 10-Zone RGB Lighting, Backlit Media Keys, Low-Profile Key, Mecha-Membrane Switches, UV-Coated Keycaps, Wrist Rest See more | | Style Name | V3 | | Switch Type | Clicky | | UPC | 840272901380 | | Unit Count | 1.0 Count | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Razer - **Compatible Devices:** PC - **Connectivity Technology:** Wired USB - **Keyboard Description:** Gaming - **Recommended Uses For Product:** Gaming ## Images ![Ornata V3 Gaming Keyboard: Low-Profile Keys-Mecha-Membrane Switches-Uv-Coated Keycaps-Backlit Media Keys-10-Zone Rgb Lighting-Spill-Resistant-Magnetic Wrist Wrest-Classic Black,Usb,Wired - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71YW8+KhOwL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Lights stay on 24/7 ???? or do they turn off at some point? can they be set up to never go off??** A: They can stay on 24/7 or have other custom switch off settings, but, you'll need to install and use the Razer Synapse Software. The options in Synapse settings for the Ornata V3 (software version 3.8.116.10612) for Shut off are: a) When display is turned off, b) When idle for X minutes (you can adjust how many minutes) and you can have bot a and b turned on if you want both settings at the same time. **Q: Can you turn the lights off?** A: Yes. I believe it is fn key and then press the f11 or whatever the sun down is until it turns off **Q: This keyboard is V3 or V3X version?** A: V3 **Q: Does the rgb support per key config? or zone only?** A: You get full control in the Razer Synapse lighting control panel. With a lot of detail and work you can assign each button to do different things with colors yes. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product w *by N***A on 20 May 2024* Worth the price ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent keyboard for writers *by W***! on 1 July 2024* I had been told that the Razer Ornata V3 was one of the best keyboards on the market for writers. You'd think I would have gone straight to Razor, since I'm such a Razor fangirl (Naga mouse, headset, etc.), but I kept going with cheap keyboards. I was looking for a very specific type of keyboard: mechanical feel, low-profile keys, satisfying clicking sounds that aren't too loud, and preferably RGB. This checks ALL those boxes. Seriously, I'm kicking myself for not just getting it sooner (though by the time I decided to finally get it, it was on sale, so the timing worked out). I like that the wrist rest is magnetic - the magnets are actually pretty strong, too, which means I don't have it sliding around even during my furious typing sessions. The keys are soft to the touch, but have a really satisfying click. It's not silent, but it's definitely a lot quieter than other mechanical keyboards I've had. The backlighting colors are bright and pleasant; I like that it doesn't just switch between 3 or 4 colors, but rather fades into each shade, so you get the true rainbow experience, without any flashing between colors. I haven't had any issues with it at all, zero lag whatsoever. The price is honestly really good for something this solid and comfortable. I use it for gaming and for my WFH job, so I'm on it all day, and it's honestly the best keyboard I've ever had. Another Razor win! Oh - a quick side note, this doesn't really matter to me, but it might to some people: I noticed that in a couple of games, it gets weird flashing patterns and sticks to one or colors. In Fortnite, for example, it only lights up blue, and flashes at random intervals. That's the only game it's really been noticeable though, so if you don't play Fortnite or you don't care, then disregard this! ## Frequently Bought Together - Razer Ornata V3 Gaming Keyboard: Low Profile Keys - Mecha Membrane Switches - UV Coated Keycaps - Backlit Media Keys - 10 Zone RGB Lighting - Spill Resistant - Magnetic Wrist Wrest Snap Tap - Razer Basilisk V3 Customizable Ergonomic Gaming Mouse: Fastest Gaming Mouse Switch - Chroma RGB Lighting - 26K DPI Optical Sensor - 11 Programmable Buttons - HyperScroll Tilt Wheel - Classic Black - Razer Kraken V3 X Wired USB Gaming Headset: Lightweight Build - Triforce 40mm Drivers - HyperClear Cardioid Mic - 7.1 Surround Sound - Chroma RGB Lighting - Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/522942538-ornata-v3-gaming-keyboard-low-profile-keys-mecha-membrane-switches](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/522942538-ornata-v3-gaming-keyboard-low-profile-keys-mecha-membrane-switches) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
