The picture does not do this product justice. The colour and finish is black piano lacquer and will coordinate well with any black piano. Metronome has a nice loud tick and for my money is much better than any smartphone app. Just having this clicking away in the background when playing helps enormously in keeping on the beat and of course you've got visual as well as audible prompts with the swinging pendulum.

The case may not be what you may expect if you are comparing it with the finished hard wood type on offer, A good high gloss finish although the wood underneath seems lower quality than you may expect , still a good product though and functionally excellent.

Really like this great is lite woof and mechanism. Shame about the cheap looking plastic catch though.

Good time keeping gift

I bought this for my boyfriend who is learning to play the guitar and he absolutely loves this!!!

As much as metronomes drive me mad, I still love this one and it motivates me to practice more.

The metronome worked as expected. Nice sound, well built, loudness is good, bell is loud enough, but can get irritating if you're concentrating on something else other than using the bell as a marker, so I shut it off most of the time. Plus, the pendulum is nice to watch it's mechanical movement, seems to give me a visual help in accenting off beat rhythms. I can't stand digital metronomes so this takes care of that. I don't care about super small variances in time compared to a digital device, as some do. If this varies a bit, don't care, "haven't checked" but it's mechanical, and more like playing with others in the real world. It just works nice. I like it's grandfather clock-like sound and mechanical movement.
