It has won us over. Great little lawnmower
Bought this when it was on offer. Reviews were decent and I was delighted with the price. Wasn't expecting a lot tbh. We have been pleasantly surprised. When we first used it, my wife and I both remarked that it felt cheap and flimsy. However, after more than half a dozen cuts, it has won us over. We now think it's a great little lawnmower. Grass always looks smart and it is light enough to make mowing not feel like too much hard work. Would definitely consider buying again for the right price.

Great value and quality feel
Great value and with a 5yr guarantee. First time Iโve used a lawnmower for over 12 years but faced with front and rear gardens in my new house Iโve spent a lot of time deciding which lawn mower to get. I swayed between getting a cordless or electric then once Iโd decided on corded for the value and power it was then down to which manufacturers to choose from. So after trolling through all the reviews for the established big companies I decided on this Murray mower after all the positive reviews. So now for the main info. The setup was not was easy as it should be though to be fair itโs only fitting two parts of a handle together then attaching the grass box. The main issue was that the screw assemblies were different supplied than shown in the manual. Anyway once this issue was resolved (10 mins to convince it was ok) it was onto the garden. This is where I gained the most confidence in the product. You get a great range of height adjustment which I used both ends of the range for different parts of the front and rear lawns. No problems it just cut through with no fuss and with a great results. The grass box held enough grass to mean little emptying was needed and also simple to empty. After the grass was cut there was little cleaning required and it was placed into the garage (didnโt bother to attempt folding the handle) The whole mower feels like good quality and I like the fact itโs got metal blades as my last mower used plastic ones which were easily damaged. Can speak for long term ownership but if there are any problems hopefully the long warranty will cover it, but so far so good

Pretty good! Would have given 5 stars for better instructions!
The Murray lawnmower is a solid bit of kit,as others have said ignore the assembly instructions and let common sense take over! The grass I cut was fairly thick and long but minimum effort was needed to cut with this lawnmower,I love that I was able to adjust the height of cut very easily. The collection box is easily removed for emptying and is a fair size (40 litres) ,the mower is easy to use and gives a great cut.I didn't use the removable mulch plug but will on next cut. All in all a solid, value for money lawnmower.Comes with a 5 year guarantee too! Ideal for a small to medium sized garden.

Think twice about buying as need to watch out for the folding handle!!!
The 'Murray' mower arrives well-boxed. My advice is to set out the handle parts that you'll need to assemble and just take the time to work it out yourself. This is because the instructions are limited and diagrams much too small. Close-up's would be more helpful alongside a full fold-out of the machine as a reference aid. Fitting the grass collecting box was bit of a faff too as you need to make sure the metal rod is underneath the flimsy plastic and to fold this around the metal rods on each side. The machine does cut nicely, but the cable should be a brighter colour to make it more visible. You have to rotate the green side arms to loosen and be able to fold down the handle. This highlighted another design flaw, as I sadly found out when the cable was completely sliced in two near the top power box. Forget the folding handle if you can when storing, as it left me with an useable mower after just one use and I'm having to return it.

Amazing, highly recommend, great for large gardens with very long grass
Amazing lawnmower, went through my garden no probs even though grass was a good 2ft or more in places and I have a very large garden with some uneven ground!!!! Massive grass collection box, easy to put together as well

A very good small, lightweight mower
I did a fair bit of research before buying this - had had a small Bosch mower beforehand but the handle broke and so was looking for something else. I was a bit unsure at first as I had not heard of Murray much before but its make of motor provides some reassurance. I am very pleased with this mower - it's excellent. It's lightweight and so is very easy to manoeuvre. The handle is very well designed - running the width of the mower and is padded so you can grip it in any position and it's comfortable. I actually put mine on with the handle pointing down which I think makes it more comfortable and easier to use. It does mean the power cable goes cross-ways over the front but it's not a problem at all. Similarly, the stop handle is easy to keep hold of. Good choice of cutting heights and easy adjustment. Grass box holds a lot of grass and with the sides being mesh it makes it easier to empty. The only neutral (not negative) thing to say is that it hasn't got a roller so you don't get stripes if that's your thing, but the compromise is it does make it lighter without. You can get up close to walls etc. I do think that the power cable would be better being orange, as with other mowers, rather than black as it does make it harder to notice when mowing. I really like this mower, it makes mowing the lawn a bit less tedious. You won't be disappointed if you get it.

OK mower for the money
Bought to replace my old Bosch 40cm cut mower which failed after 8 years of service and not now available. This is not a bad mower for the money and does a decent job of cutting my fairly large lawns. despit some other reviews, I found it easy to assemble (took about 20 minutes) and didn't bother with the less than clear assembly instructions. You generally get what you pay for and this mower is no exceptioin to that rule - not in the same league as my old Bosch. Good points: Easy to assemble, light weight, powerful motor, lots of height adjustment (which is simple) Bad points: very short power cable requiring a long, female plug extension lead, no roller - so no stripes, a bit too light for my liking, so bounces around if pushed quickly over eneven lawn surfaces, grass box a bit tricky to seat correctly - leaves lines of cut grass at the side of the mower if you're not careful, grass pick up is not great if grass is a bit damp - grass easily compacts in a wet mess on the underside of the mower which needs to be removed frequently, generally more flimsy than my old Bosch. Time will tell how long this mower lasts, but I'm not hopeful that it will match my old Bosch. To fix the power lead issue, I cut the power lead from my old Bosch mower and joined to the short cable on the new Murray. I also removed the cable wrapping clips from my Bosch and attached to the Murray (it doesn't have any) - not everyone may have the kit or confidence to do this. Would I buy again - No Update : After using this mower for a few months, I wish I had bought from an established mower brand. The underside of the mower has a curious flat profile and grass pick up is poor. Unless the grass is absolutely bone dry, trails of clippings are left on either side of the mower which means going over every cut at least twice. Cutting my lawns now takes twice the time that it did with my bosch. Also, compacted grass builds up rapidly on the underside of the mower, which requires frequent stops to clear to avoid large lumps being deposited at random as you mow. The mower is also noisy and has an annoying high pitched whine in operation. This mower will be receiving no maintenance in the hope that it blows up so that I can justify buying a new one. In summary, the worst mower I have ever owned by a country mild - my advice if you value your sanity would be to pay a little extra and stick to an established mower brand.
