Sharp, high-quality, and fits my hand
This sickle has a very sharp and lightly sawtoothed blade that is perfect for cutting. I like the overall design and the way the that handle fits my hand. Some might like the handle to be thicker, though. The blade is thick enough so that it doesn't flex. I wash, dry, and lightly oil the blade between uses to keep it from rusting. This style of blade is highly functional for cutting, but is not designed for chopping. Overall, an excellent product.

What a PLEASURE to use in the Yard!
I have lots of landscaping to deal with and, of course, my share of annoying weeds. I used to use a trowel or a standing weed-getter, but it was far too much effort for the results. Then I purchased this tool and a nice pad for my knees when weeding. This gets right to the matter: weeding is three times as fast and 100% more successful. It gets deep down to the root of things (slight pun intended) and eliminates those pesky intruders. Try it for yourself, and you'll give this tool 5 stars, too!

Great tool. Speeds up hand weeding and does a better job.

Aggressive teeth seem to be a thing of the past with tools like these!
If you've used this type of tool in the past and are looking to get another with as aggressive a blade as they used to have, good luck! So far I can't find one in any store or or on line. This tool is usable, but I used to retire mine when the teeth reached this level. As for the blade, they are all about the same anymore, not near as aggressive as they used to be, but this one seems a bit sturdier and has a better, slightly longer handle

Best weeding tool ever.
Every gardener struggles with encroaching weeds. They’re hard to keep up on and make yard tasks much less enjoyable. My husband and I bought a rural property 10 years ago, and we’re just now getting to the lawn. It’s been daunting clearing ground (we don’t want to use chemicals), but I started seeing tools similar to this on social media, and at this point I figure anything is worth trying to make the task easier. It’s a smaller tool, it’s no more expensive than buying a new trowel, and it’s really sturdy. This tool is strong enough to hold up against our soil, and our home sits in an ancient river bed. The handle is super comfortable to hold, and man does it get the job done. We’re getting back into garden work and updates for the year, and that includes recreating the path we’ve cut for cobbling. It is over grown with clover, stray grass seed that escaped the lawn, and dandelions. The prongs on this scrape through the packed earth easily and bring a majority of the roots out with the plant. I’d say that with this tool I was able to clear out a 2’x2’ section of path in less than 10 minutes. I’m sold. I will always have one of these tools around now.

Best thing since sliced bread!
I have a large garden and have always used Cape Cod weeders to control the weeds. I saw this tool and decided to give it a try. I have other Japanese garden tools and have never been disappointed. This weeding hoe is no exception. In fact, I just ordered another one for our vegetable garden. The angle of the blade to the handle is such that it makes running the blade under weed roots very easy. Don't need a lot of strength, even in compacted dirt such a walkway path. The red handle ensures I don't leave it behind when I'm finished working. The blade is very sharp and so far has kept its sharpness after running it over cement pavers to cut weeds growing in cracks and in compacted dirt with small stones. I'm sure I'll have to sharpen it sometime, but right now it continues to be sharp enough to cut through thick dandelion roots in one swipe. It has become my "go-to" weeder now!

Japanese Cobra style Weeder
Longer handle which makes it easier to reach weeds than the shorter cobra weeders. Works great

This is a great little hand, weeding tool
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I ordered this tool. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was extremely well-made and has a comfortable handle and was sharp as tack. It’s quite easy to skim along just under the surface of the soil to remove weeds. It’s a joy to use and should be easy to sharpen should that be necessary.

I purchased this to clear my yard of Common Purslain, an invasive weed that was taking over as I did not want to use herbicide. This is a sharp, strongly made product that, if used correctly (make sure you cut all the way around the weed with the tool before attempting to lift) should not bend or break.

I had a different sort that always bent after heavy use , this one is more stirdy I love it . Best thing for weeding hands down !

This tool does the job and is quite sharp, the only reason I am giving it four stars is because it does rust, I even oil it but it still rusts a little. When it comes to weeding though, it does the job perfectly, so much better than anything else I've tried in the past.

Blade is sharp. What I really appreciate is that the handle is red so I can find it when I leave it on the ground and it doesn’t blend in with the soil.
