Perfect Travel Companion for Laptop
This screen makes all the difference when travelling with a laptop. Nowadays with screen sharing a common event during the working day I find it essential to have a "private" and "public" screen to avoid Outlook and IM popping up in the corner of presentations. This second screen makes that easy and the screen is really portable, not just light but slim and well protected. It slips into my laptop bag alongside the laptop and is hardly noticeable extra for carrying purposed - but does add a little in weight as flight hand luggage. When not in use there is a metal cover that slides over the face of the screen - very solid protection. Being metal this case is much less bulky than a comparable leatherette or fabric case and yet provides more protection. When not in use this cover provides a base for the monitor which rests in the cover like a stand up picture frame.Connectivity is simple plug and play USB cable; setup was very straightforward in Windows 7 - no need to install drivers manually this was all managed by Windows Device Manager. There is a "long" USB cable supplied - certainly enough to locate the monitor to either side of the laptop. Also included is a splitter cable to increase the UBS power from the laptop (using 2 USB sockets) but I have not found this necessary.Colour, grain, brightness on the monitor are all good. It is not quite as good as my best desktop monitor but comparable with Dell laptop screen. I have not used for video but for Office applications and viewing the odd photo there are no problems. Finally, the first model I had the connection failed within 2 weeks - not good. However the process to swap out was very straightforward, one phone call and the new product arrived by courier and contained a prepaid return by courier. Given that sometimes things just don't work I was pleased with the swap out process - so no stars deducted. Unless the second one fails! But so far that is not the case and I am very pleased with this product.

Great as a secondary monitor
I bought this because I have a Thinkpad X1 and this seemed like the perfect match to have some extra desktop workspace without having a full size monitor which, due to space constrains, would have been a nightmare. I wasn't wrong in making this decision. The monitor works great and I notice no speed problems with it. I even tried playing a video on it and it looked fine and with no noticeable delay. Since this is not my use for the monitor, it doesn't really matter anyway, but I had to try it.Someone said here it was a bad quality display and I cannot disagree more. The screen is sharp and it has no noticeable problems at all. Lighting is even and the matte finish helps a lot with light glare, something my X1's display cannot do.The main downside to this monitor and the reason why I gave it 4 stars, is that you CANNOT colour calibrate it. I work with graphics and video and this would be a massive deal breaker if you intend to use the monitor as a display that needs proper colour calibration. As I use it, I don't need it, but the default kinda warm colour calibration is not what I am used to with my monitors, I like a cooler calibration scheme, but this is a minor complaint as what I do with it involves mostly reading and use it as a "toolbox" of sorts rather than a colour-proofing device. In any case, graphic designers and the like should be well aware of this issue before purchasing.Other than that, this is the perfect companion for your laptop, if space is a problem and you need mobility but want an extended workspace.

Fab monitor for what it is
Just got this a few days ago, was going to plump for a bigger resolution USB monitor but this one won me over with a few key features.I'll summarise here instead of being overly wordy :)Great hard plastic cover slips over it for boisterous travelling moments. A winning option, that.Resolution is perfect for on the go work. Means that text is a good default size, and very readable for an old man like me.Quality is perfectly good too. Won't compare with a top of the line desktop screen, but its powered by USB after all.A bit of banding on graduations but I did expect that because of the type of monitor it is. Not ideal for heavy graphic work but as a web developer the fact that I have an easy double screen setup on the go negates any worries about the banding.Very bright too, considering. That was my key worry, but since I plugged it in I've had to reduce the brightness a little. The only negative thing I can think about is that the energy efficient sticker on it left a really hard to shift sticky bit, which I only managed to get off using SWARFEGA of all things. Tried lots of cleaners, hoping I wouldnt melt the screen, but good old swarfega removed it ok. Was almost onto the nail polish remover, which might have ruined it. Stupid having a sticker actually ON the screen. Will be taking this everywhere I go now, its not heavy, its the same size as the laptop I'm using, and I almost dont feel the need to go back to my large desktop setup any more now. Plenty screen estate for anything you'd need.Still can't get over the fact its just got one usb cable.... brilliant!

Rubbish
USB connector broke inside with only a few uses. Although still under warranty the response from Lenovo Technical Support Team was, 'connection on the machine are considered damage and not covered in warranty. Unfortunately since we do not repair the monitors and we replace them if issue in warranty, we can't assist you'

No support for Windows 10
Great unit for my W7 laptop but Lenovo aren't even remotely interested in releasing drivers for W10 and I'm very disappointed.

Low image quality
The fact that of the resolution is low and cannot be adjusted was not a big issue to me. However I was expecting a much better image quality. Image quality ressembles of a monitor being used outdoors on a sunny day.
