I bought this so I can keep an eye on my son's temperature. He is on the autism spectrum and has a lot of sensory problems. Using an ear thermometer or holding one in his mouth is out of the question. This is a much better option. I don't even need to touch him to use it. I can also use it in the kitchen since it will check the surface temperature of my cooking.

I was hoping to finally find an accurate thermometer that I loved but was sadly disappointed with this purchase. We have had this thermometer a year now and every time I use it on a hot to the touch family member, the thermometer reads 97 or 98 degrees. Terrible disappointed with this purchase. I gave this thermometer time and was hoping it would be worth the purchase but no such luck. I would be happy to return this product to purchase another, more accurate thermometer.

Very small and little weight. Perfect for travel but we notice it’s more accurate in ear than forehead.

I received this thermometer just about a month ago and have used it quite a bit because I got sick right after it arrived. The forehead temperature reads quite a bit lower than actual body temperature, as is normal for thermometers, but the in-ear temperature seems spot on and quite consistent. I also figured out that I can aim the laser at the underside of my tongue and get almost exactly the same result as in the ear (usually fractionally lower by 0.1 to 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit), which is really convenient.

The thermometer arrived promptly, but it did not beep when the temperature was read. I contacted customer service online and they apologized and sent me a brand new one. They were very accommodating and supported their product. I now think that perhaps the original thermometer did beep, but it is at such a high pitch that I was unable to hear it. That may be a product of my inability to hear high-pitched. sounds since I am 75 years old.

Sometimes after taking a measurement it just shuts down and won't turn back on untill the batteries are taken out and placed back. And they're fine I tested them.
