After using this HP 15.6" touchscreen laptop for several weeks, I’ve been consistently impressed by how well it handles everyday tasks. The standout feature is the combination of a modest CPU with a generous 32GB of RAM and a fast 1TB SSD, resulting in much smoother performance than expected from a Core i3 system. The i3-1115G4’s strong single-core performance allows quick boot times, fast app launches, and responsive system navigation. The 32GB RAM is a major advantage, enabling seamless multitasking with numerous browser tabs, office applications, and streaming content open simultaneously. The 1TB SSD offers excellent speed for file transfers and significantly improves overall responsiveness. With this much storage, it's easy to keep large photo libraries, documents, and multiple applications installed without worrying about space. The touchscreen is responsive and intuitive, making browsing and media viewing more natural. While the display is HD rather than Full HD, the colors are pleasant, and brightness is adequate for indoor use. The keyboard provides a soft, comfortable typing experience suitable for long sessions. The touchpad is accurate and reliable, with smooth gesture support. Key strengths: -Fast multitasking performance thanks to 32GB RAM -Quick boot and file operations due to the 1TB SSD -Responsive touchscreen enhances everyday use -Low fan noise, suitable for meetings and quiet environments -Great overall value for students, remote workers, and general home use The built-in speakers are serviceable for video calls and casual media consumption but lack depth for music playback. Additionally, the HD display may feel less sharp for users accustomed to Full HD or higher. Despite these minor limitations, the laptop’s performance, storage capacity, and usability far exceed expectations for its price range.

So I bought two of these computers, one for my daughter and one for me. Let me say first that DURING your INITIAL setup make sure that you DO get properly signed in to your Microsoft account and your OneDrive account. Set them up during setup. Also make sure that one drive is set to sync. While setting up my daughter's computer I got the password wrong so it set it up without signing in. After setup I did sign into Microsoft and OneDrive but did not set it up to sync. I could not get that computer out of S Mode no matter what I did. I had to reinstall a brand new windows 11 and then go in and delete the old operating system in order to get it out of S Mode. On my computer setting it up I DID properly get signed into Microsoft account and one drive and told it to enable the sync. This one came right out of S Mode after the setup was done when I followed Microsoft's instructions. It must have something to do with enabling those things and signing in during setup and not afterward! (Microsoft should be CLEAR about this and nowhere did I find this information online - truly it was by accideny). As far as this complaining about a battery not holding charge. First of all your standby time unplugged I have at least 10 to 12 hours, if not a few days. I left mine unplugged overnight and it only went down less than 10%. If you're using your computer yeah you're only going to have maximum 3 to 4 hours of battery time and that's the same on all of my laptops. Secondly this computer comes with an HP interface program called MY HP that includes Diagnostics. You will have to create an account and sign in but there are diagnostic tools in there that will test your battery. One of the things HP says (Especiaaly with a new computer or if you are replacing a battery) is that you need to condition the battery so that it does not get damaged or operate improperly. What they recommend is that you discharge the battery until the computer shuts itself off. Then you plug it in (if it starts up when you plug it in let it boot and turn it back off all the way). Then allow the battery to charge with the computer off for a minimum of 6 hours. Then you unplug the charger and let the computer sit for at least 4 hours still completely off. Once you turn it back on reload the HP diagnostic software and run the battery test again. If it still tells you that the battery needs conditioned then you will repeat the process up to three times until it tells you the battery condition is good. Make sure when you do this that you have the power setting set to charge the battery to 100%. Once you have conditioned the battery go in and set it to power saving so that it only charges the battery up to 80% so that way you don't overuse the battery and you don't get Ghost charges. If you do this you will have a longer usage time and standby time. And you won't damage the battery in the end.

I only use this pc occasionally, but when I need to use it, I really need it to work. This machine makes me panic every time I start it up with constant updates that take forever and keep me from meeting deadlines. I on now it's a cheap laptop, but $500 is still a lot of money - as much as my Xbox which works just fine. I will NEVER buy a windows machine again. I cannot rely on this thing to help me get things done when it matters most. Now I'm just staring at a grey loading screen - can't start in safe mode, won't run diagnostics the way it recommends, no way to fix it, so I guess I'm getting my money back? Not likely. Can you imagine if we let tech people design cars? Oh wait we did and it did not go well.

Good price. Nice laptop. Easy to use. Connected to wifi easily.

Very fast laptop, especially for the price! Was a little nervous getting this but I am very happy that I did. I primarily use this for online school and Microsoft office projects and so far I have had no issues running quite a few programs at once with multiple files open and it's still very fast. Had a bit of a hard time setting it up at first as windows was in like a "safe" mode. But once I figured it out everything has been very smooth. Happy with the size, touch screen, resolution, speed, weight. Only thing that would make it better is maybe a light up key board or darker keys it's all silver. Overall, great purchase!

HP is my go to brand, it replaced my older. 6 pus years unit. Upgrade to faster and Windows OS. Touchscreen is a must, quick start setup ease.
