Yes, it’s a good vacuum!
This vacuum picks up very well! It is extremely easy to use, all the tools are on board, the cord is mercifully long! It is kind of a throw back type of vacuum being that it is heavy, kind of a tank really! But in turn you get a powerful vacuum with as much suction as you can handle!!

Great vacuum
This vacuum is great. It has great suction power. We have 3 large dogs that shed a ton and this sucked up all the hair easily. The cord length is great. This is on the pricey side but it's well worth the money spent with how good of a job it did. Lighter weight than I expected also which is nice.

Incredible Vacuum
I ordered this Kenmore vacuum as a replacement for a Shark that fell apart in less than a year. I have owned and wore out more than 10 vacuums in less than 8 years. Dyson, Bissell, Shark, Sanitaire, Electrolux, Simplicity, Miele, Sirena, and Kaercher (Karcher) but not a Kenmore til now. So I have a good deal of hands-on experience using and repairing them. I have found that the price and reliability of a vacuum are in no way related for most brands. The only exception has been Karcher that still runs like new with minor repairs. This Kenmore vacuum impressed me from the start. It has the best vacuum performance of any vacuum whether hard surface or plush carpet or area rugs. The beater bar is not overly aggressive but does an excellent job of vibrating dirt loose so it can be caught it. There is an extendable wand with crevice and upholstery tools which works great but with limited reach. The hose could be longer is my only complaint. Overall it performs better than any other I have owned except for Karcher but almost as good. Considering the price, performance, and build quality I think it is the best value around. You could pay a lot more and get a lot less. Also, the Kenmore is heavier than most and could be an issue if you have stairs to deal with. So you will want to take that into consideration.

Works Very Well!
We had previously owned a "Pet Vacuum" and it just didn't go a good job. So when it was time to replace our old one I did my due diligence and searched the internet for the best one I could afford. I read both good and bad reviews to get a feel for what people are saying about a product. A Dyson was out of the question due to price, so I was after the best value. Some of the negative comments regarded the fact that the Kenmore Elite was not self-propelled, it was somewhat heavy, the height adjustment wasn't automatic and the hose was too short. BUT, it worked very well. After looking over other brands and options, I bought the Kenmore Elite Upright 31150.I was not disappointed! Yes, you have to manually adjust the height. No big deal. I need to do that once when I vacuum as we have shorter nap rugs in one area of our home. I then start in that area the next time. It is not self-propelled, but that's okay because if you have the height adjusted correctly, it will gently pull itself forward. Most of us need more physical activity anyway! I know I do. The hose is short-ish, but works for most of what I need to do with it and there is a wand for extra reach. The wand extends nicely. There are a couple of handy attachments as well, especially the mini-brush that spins using the force of the suction. We have three cats, one of which is a long hair who leaves piles of fine hair everywhere and the Elite has no trouble getting those out of our short nap carpet.Suction power is outstanding and when using attachments actually needs to be managed with the airflow gate on the hose. Maneuverability is fine, but because it isn't propelled by anything other than the spinning brush, it does take a little more effort than a self-propelled model. It is not "light weight", but I don't care about that. Like I mentioned, I like the physical aspect of using the machine.Regarding comments that said the brushes wear out; What are these folks doing to make that happen??? Even when I have the height set lower than it should be (which you should realize immediately as the vacuum wants to pull fairly hard) I still cannot imagine wearing the brush out that fast. We've had this vacuum for some time and I've very happy with it.A blue light on the nose of the machine lights up when you activate the brush then goes out after about 5 seconds. It will come on again when you go over an area with extra debris. My wife thinks it's a gimmick, but I like it because it will make me go over that area slowly until the light extinguishes, ensuring it's clean. This is typically where the felines favorite resting spots are, or near the entries to the house or around the fireplace. The LED "headlights" work great as well and really light up dark areas under furniture or in corners. The vacuum does have a bag which I much prefer over the canister type vacuums as all dust, hair and dander is contained. There are also exhaust air filters. All of these work beautifully.I don't have any Cons on this one; I love it and would by it again.
