Then the pandemic hit and all the bike manufacturers seemed to shift to e-bikes, city bikes, and road bikes - most of which are $2K-$5K. Diamondback got out of road bikes altogether, it's no longer a product line for them. I was skeptical when I found this one for $1350 but the engineering seemed sound so took my chances on ordering. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the assembly was - put it together myself in just an hour, only a few parts to screw together. I had one minor problem - the left foot pedal wouldn't screw in. I'm not sure if the threading wasn't quite right or maybe I stripped it slightly even though I was careful. I took it to a bike shop would had the proper threading tool and got it installed for $20. Overall this is an amazing bike, a great reduction from my steel bike at less than 20 pounds.
