Best mashed potatoes ever!
I bought this to try Bon Appetit's recipe for perfect mashed potatoes, which suggested using a ricer. I had never used one prior to this, but it made a big difference and I am now a fan.Pros:Cooking the potatoes in skins makes them less watered down for more potato flavor.The ricer catches the skins so you don't have to peel them.Overall, the using the ricer gets the mashing done with less effort and without unmashed chunks in the final product. (Note: just make sure they are fork tender before removing from heat. The second time I made these I was not as careful, and partially cooked potatoes do NOT go through the ricer very well.)Creamy textureCleans up well in dishwasherCons:My gadget drawer is getting fuller, it takes up a little more space than a masher.

Ricer is a good size for potatoes
I SOOOO wish I would have purchased a ricer years ago. Live and learn. Ricer is a good size for potatoes, but not so big that it cannot fit in your utensil drawer. I am pleased.
