Item is great but unfortunately it doesn't consistently recognise the new £1 coin, and will often register it as 10p. This is inconsistent and I suspect has something to do with the new ridging, and the way it is pushed in - I can push in 5 coins and all will register as £1 but then the sixth one will show as 10p. Other times it will be 10p a couple of times in a row and then back to £1.Shame as it's quite nice otherwise, but you're likely considering buying this for both the storage and counting aspect, and it fails to do the latter consistently correctly. After testing, all other coins (including the old £1) I can confirm are consistently accurate

Sometimes the counter mistakes the one pence coin for £1 coin. Not very accurate

I didn't like that I had to unscrew the pig to insert the batteries. But t is a lovely piggy and counts very well

Bought as a Christmas present for my niece and she loves it. Only potentional problem is if the coins are pushed in too quickly it could miscount the coin, while my niece was filling it with her life savings of £14 in change it counted a 2 pence piece as a £2 coin. The result was starting again and putting the whole amount back in but apart from that she loves it ! It appears to be well made and will hold a good amount of change.

No batteries with it

Great item, my daughter loves putting her pocket money in this and watching it count up. Only downside is that it doesn’t recognise the new £1 coins!?
