The Super Mario Bros. Movie - Power Up Edition 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital [4K UHD]

The Super Mario Bros. Movie reminds me of some of the older more classic kids films. Nostalgic in that it is purely about being fun, enjoyable, and pleasant to watch. It doesn't seem to rely on constant quips, cheap humor, or pure brand power. It has a meaty story, proper character development, characters with motivations, and still plenty of fan service. But it also brings plenty new to the franchise, with a wonderful cast set of characters, and may I say that Seth Rogan was an amazing choice for Donkey Kong, believable interactions between characters, and a setting that's easy to understand and stomach as strangers to the franchise but also maintaining what made the fans of the franchise love it up to this point.Finally, the cinematography is intense and amazing. Scenes that illicit proper reactions and emotions, convey scale and progression of time. Miyamoto taking such a strong part in directing this wasn't just a great decision, but may as well have been necessary to this movies core being. Nearly every shot is thoroughly thought through, with placement of features and characters being intentional, and purposeful. To add to all of that, the HDR and 4K experience is stunning.To say, shortly, that this movie is great, would be a disservice.

This is one of the best videogame movies adaptation yet. I couldn't think how a live action will work for this movie. Thankfully is an animated one which is unique on these kind of movies. Great story.

Thought they did justice to Mario and Company. Fun to watch and looks fabulous on 4K...

I went and saw this move in theaters last year. I was ecstatic to see it!The movie was just about perfect. It had all the necessary elements and characters to please the most faithful of Nintendo fans.I would speak more about the movie, but maybe there is someone reading these reviews who has yet to see it.If you are a Nintendo fan, or Mario [the face of Nintendo] fan, you will love this movie! I actually saw it in theaters twice, something I would never do for a movie.I ordered this on Blu-ray from Amazon. It came quickly, brand new, without any imperfections.

The movie played well and had some of the old Mario games theatrical sequences. Nice colors in the video. I did not find the movie to my liking. Playing the game was more fun.

Bought this as a Christmas present and she loves playing it. It was a hit! Good price, too.
