The kind in SOFT GELS is far superior.
IMPORTANT NOTE: BUY THE KIND IN THE WHITE BOTTLE, NOT THE BLACK ONE.Amazon recently intermixed the reviews for two different PS (phosphatidylserine) products. Both are made by Jarrow, and Amazon sells both of them. I can see why Amazon was confused, because the labels are virtually identical. However, the products are NOT equally effective. Combining the reviews has confused a lot of people, and has also resulted in some people ordering the wrong product. (I did it myself recently, and had to call Amazon to cancel the mistaken order.) The labels look the same, and the reviews are intermixed, but the product inside is very different. The only way to tell them apart is from the color of the bottle. The Jarrow PS100 in the BLACK BOTTLE is NOT the one I am recommending. It's from genetically modified soybeans. The capsules are large and hard to swallow. They contain a brown powder which is not very effective. I have to take three or four of them to get the same effect as the other product, described below. The Jarrow PS100 in the WHITE BOTTLE is made from sunflowers, not soybeans. It is NOT genetically modified. The gel caps are small and easy to swallow. The product is easy to absorb, and very potent. This is the product I am recommending below.WHY I TAKE PS* I started taking PS a few months ago, when I was dealing with high stress and had high cortisol levels, making it difficult for me to relax and unwind.* Taking it made an almost immediate difference.* Months later, I still find that when I'm stressed, I still find that PS relaxes me. I feel like it calms my mind without sedating me.* When I take it, I feel better; I sleep better, and my short term memory seems better.* When I miss a day or two, I start noticing the same old short term memory problems: I'll go into the kitchen, then forget what I went in there for. When I take it, this seems much more rare. It's not that the PS caused the problems; I was experiencing them before the PS; it's that the PS seems to make my memory sharper and clearer, on days when I take it.* When I take PS at night, I tend to wake up the next morning feeling more refreshed than usual.* It's one of the few supplements I consider essential.WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS FORMULA:* This formula (in the blue/gold container) is made from sunflowers, not soy (so, no GM residues.)* It comes in soft gels, not capsules. They are smaller and easier to swallow than capsules.* I feel the effects sooner when I take the soft gels, than when I take Jarrow's other PS formula (or other companies' products) in gelatin capsules.* Because it's so more effective, I need less of it to get a beneficial effect. So the gelcaps are more economical also, in the long run.CAVEATS AND CAUTIONS* On Jarrow's website and elsewhere on the web, it says that this product (in the gel caps) should be kept REFRIGERATED after opening, to prevent it from spoiling. I wish this was made clearer in the Amazon ads. People who buy a bottle and stick it in a warm cupboard for a couple of months are probably taking a lower potency product as a result.* PS (of whatever type or brand) is most effective when taken with a source of DHA. PS was originally found in cows' brains, where it's naturally conjugated with DHA, and the lab studies that showed how much it helped with memory, were done with that type. But then due to fears about mad cow disease, it stopped being sold in that form. Unfortunately, most PS supplements, including this one, do NOT add in the DHA. My recommendation is to take a gelcap of PS with a capsule of fish oil or krill oil, both of which are high in DHA. Or you could take it along with a product like Conjugated Phosphatidylserine with DHA (my second favorite PS product). I like taking the Jarrow and Swanson products together for maximum benefit.• Though normal amounts shouldn't have this effect, taking a large amount of PS may make you sleepy. For a while I got into taking several PS capsules a day... we're talking 7 or 8 caps of PS ... and found myself feeling "dozy" during the daytime hours and needing to lie down a lot. This improved when I cut back on the dose. My current approach (which is working better) is to take a gelcap in the morning with a little fish or krill oil, then take a couple of gelcaps at night (when it may possibly help you get a good night's sleep).IN SUM:Great product, highly recommended. Just make sure that if you're buying Jarrow's PS, that you get the kind in gel caps, not the powdered stuff.

Brain fog is going away!
I feel like my memory and focus have improved with using PS100. Brain fog seems to be disappearing! Caps are easy to swallow. I have not had an issue with them sticking together in the bottle, but I store them in a cool, dry cabinet.

Hardens Arteries
This stuff hardens arteries, it should be banned by FDA. It's a derivative of lecithin. Research it. I took one then stopped when I did further research. If you still want to buy this stuff I'm sure this is a good brand.--- Added Info, a lot of info out there says lecithin is good, may e maybe not."Although a direct link to heart attack has not been made, researchers recently showed that intake of phosphatidylcholine, a major component of lecithin, temporarily raises blood levels of the compound TMAO. This is of concern because a 3-year study by the same researchers showed that people with the highest blood plasma levels of TMAO -- above 6 µM (micromoles) -- were 2.5 times as likely as those with the lowest levels (under 2.5 µM) to suffer a heart attack or other major adverse cardiovascular event (Tang, New Eng J Med 2013). "This quote is from consumerlab website for phosphatidylcholine lecithin.Lots of initial info on lecithin was positive when it came out and it might me more mixed now so keep that in mind. Look into vitamin K2 to decalcify arteries. PQQ might be something to look into for the brain, there are options to look at.

Jarrow excellent, just each brain / person has to try different nootropics to fine tune.
The reason why nootropics is so necessary is because ptsd and trauma, ultimately affects the functioning of the brain and medication did worst for my life than the original trauma. Now because each brain needs different things, I try different nootropics at least two weeks ( separate one at a time) so I know what effects really has on me. For those who tried SSRIS and no longer do, the price to rebuild a brain ( and body and guts) after being bombarded by serotonin and others neurotransmitters, the price is grate. So, me personally , I love all Jarrow products but gave me stiff jaw muscles, spasms in my upper back ( spasms are painful , really ) but on the good side I had straight to go the gym and had a good work out and lost some weight. So not quite what I need because of the muscle aches ( I take it one in the morning, so imaging why stiffness and spasms at night??)Anyways I felt it is important to write a review so whomever interested can have an idea since there's not much in the internet of detailed personal experience.

Best bang for your buck - LOOK AT PIC
This is the best value for a quality PS supplement I have ever come across. This version is the softgel form, the most bioavailable way to take the supplement with the best absorption. This supplement is fat soluble, so I recommend taking it with fish oil. This is a lifesaver for me, helps me with chronic high cortisol levels and frequent insomnia. I’m simply not the same or my best self without it. As illustrated by the picture, you cannot tell a difference between jarrow PS and another highly priced PS softgel which I used to previously buy until trying this. Needless to say, ill be sticking with jarrow. I don’t like being ripped off and imagine neither do you. Good luck and best wishes to good health!UPDATE: My body is very reactive to certain things, I know I previously recommended taking it with fish oil, however if insomnia is your issue, try just taking the PS in the morning and no fish oil. I experimented a bit more and found that the fish oil causes some insomnia for me. You can find that insomnia is a common side effect of fish oil online. Best of luck!
