A Is for Ambitious (Ambitious Girl, 2)

Although I think they could’ve done better with the letter X, the rest of the alphabets are apt for the equity struggle that women face and the words that are used to try and demean them in the pursuit of that journey. I loved it!

I saw an interview with the author and heard my grand daughter-in-laws voice. I knew I had to buy the two books. I read them love the books and gave them to my great grand daughter's parents to read and pass judgment on. They came back with a triple AAA rating.

My 8 year old granddaughter and I read this together. We bother enjoyed the teachable points and the illustrations.

I am a HUGE fan of the Harris women and Meena is no exception. I love them and what they represent so much, I jumped at the chance to be a part of this tour!This book is amazing. Today, I’m a proud feminist and this book gave me all the feels. But that wasn’t always the case. I grew up in a time when being a feminist wasn’t a good thing. Not to mention, my family is conservative. It wasn’t until I went to college and found my voice that I realized the power of women when we fully embrace ourselves without placing limitations on ourselves.This book is unique, I loved that they went A-Z using words commonly used to describe and undermine our sense of selves and reframed them in a positive light. The illustrations are gorgeous and brought the story to life. The book is full of excitement and an I can do anything frame of mind which I found to be contagious. I couldn’t’ stop smiling as I read this. The message is also a great conversation started with your little one. This is the second in the series. I’d love to see it in every classroom as well as public libraries.I’m hooked on Mena’s books and have already ordered the rest of her books. I can’t wait to read more from her!

This book is filled with inspiration, humor, and reads so well out loud. It’s a great conversation starter with kids and should be in classrooms everywhere!

The illustrations MAKE this book!! I love looking through all the little details, it's simply marvelous. A classic color palette, creative compositions, it's just lovely!

En el libro encontrarás un abc de frases inspiradoras. Las ilustraciones son divertidas. El problema es que el libro está encuadernado al revés, al abrir la pasta te encuentras con las hojas del final y de cabeza, trataron de corregir el error con una cubierta de papel delgado colocado de manera correcta pero con los niños de 4 años esa hoja dura 10 segundos en su lugar. En lo personal, me resulta un detalle desesperante e inconveniente
