Review of stand
I bought this to support bot an iPad Pro with keyboard and also for a laptop.Firstly, the unit is incredibly well made and the price reflects this. It relies on an extremely heavy base, on castors, to support a book/laptop/iPad with the arms cantilevered. It does this very well. Tapping the digital keyboard on an iPod does not result in any real movement in the unit, unlike all others I have bought in the past. The unit is easy to assemble and the arms easily slide out of the way when not in use. I cannot comment on how good this unit is when reading books as I have no intention of using it for that purpose. The only negative I would say about it is that it would be better if the vertical column was about 3" lower as I think the lowest working height is ergonomically poor for the average chair. This is true when using the unit for a laptop or iPad with keyboard. Using an iPad on its own without an external keyboard the unit is perfect as the easel can be adjusted to any angle to face you even sitting in a low chair. There is a ledge on the bottom of the easel to stop the iPad from falling off. I'm very pleased overall and so far it's way ahead of anything I've tried so far.

I would not recommend it.
Arrived promptly. This iPad holder was not a great success. I thought it’s expensive price would reflect quality sadly it did not.In less than 12 months it is broken beyond repair.

I'm a satisfied customer.
It does what I want so far, which is for use in bed with my iPad and eReader. Not tried it with a conventional book yet. It's heavy and chunky, and it needs to be to have stability, which was a concern when I looked at alternatives. I'm a satisfied customer.

Totally unjustifiable price: poor quality product, taking advantage of the disabled. :-(
My brothers and I bought this between us for our elderly grandmother for christmas 2014 as she could no longer hold books due to arthritis in her wrists. When it arrived we were immediately disappointed with the quality. It wasn't what we had expected considering how much we'd paid for it. The castors broke almost immediately; the 'wheels' are flimsy plastic discs very weakly attached to either side of a metal axel. This didn't matter too much to my grandmother as she has always kept it in the same position next to her chair. The castors are not where the poor quality ends though: over time the arm has badly drooped, and can't be adjusted to hold books high enough any more. And last week one of the page holders finally snapped off rendering it now unusable with books. If we had spent £40 on a copycat cheap version that would be fine, but this thing cost over £200. The price is totally unjustifiable. I just wish someone made a decent version. Luckily my grandmother has finally come round to the idea of a kindle, which if she can't hold herself hopefully the knackered hold-it will be able to manage.
