Situ Lighting: Cordless and Rechargeable LED Art and Picture Light - Rechargeable Micro Series - 3000K - USA Made

Have had for a year and a half. Great, so far. Well built, looks stylish, is compact, lightweight and has different light intensities. Easily just sits atop the frame. I am 6’-2”, so turning on or off is easy. If you are shorter you would need a step stool to reach. Would have been great with a remote but I understand that the current technology is such that those with remote have a constant minimal battery drain, so the need to recharge is more frequent. Mine tends to last about a little over a week before needing to recharge. It is pricey but well worth the money. Highly recommend.

This is a great product, if expensive. I had been looking for exactly this product for some time. The significantly cheaper options are made of plastic, weight a lot, and use cumbersome replaceable batteries. I've included some pictures of the product operating in total darkness, as well as a comparison of the same picture with no light, the low brightness setting, and the high brightness setting. I find that the low light level is perfect, particularly as a majority of my pieces are framed behind glass and I want to minimize glare. On canvases of course there is no problem. The head is fixed. you might be able to re-angle with a screwdriver, but I have not tried yet. ***UPDATE 10/17 The seller contacted me after seeing my review and let me know that the head IS adjustable. Super!*** But overall it is a very thoughtfully designed product, and works on a majority of frames quite easily. The light is very neutral - I find the hue they have settled on does a great job of bringing out the natural colors in the artwork. I have used this with acrylics, pencils, and mixed-media pieces and it works well everywhere. I may be addicted to this. The minimal profile is easy to incorporate almost anywhere. I'm a little torn by the lack of a remote. It would be nice, but for most of my pieces I don't need it, but for the higher ones I miss it. ***UPDATE 10/17 The manufacturer contacted me and after reading the review and explained very logically that a remote function is not included because of an unpreventable drain on the battery when not in use, which I understand and appreciate. Super!*** I'd say the maximum size you would want the mini-spot for is about 31" x 31" (with fair coverage everywhere). I enjoy this product so much I made my first video review, so that should tell you something. I'm also going to go show it off at the local framing store. I've had my first piece for about a month now - I'll update if there are any changes. Also, although there is not a lot of light bleed outside of the 'cone of influence', these do provide some nice ambient light. With two of them on in a large room at night, I can easily navigate around without any other lights. Also, no glare off the TV from these. Enjoy!

I have been wanting a light that will illuminate some favorite paintings for years - everything I tried had messy cords, was super expensive and difficult to install. Then I saw this product on Amazon with the very helpful reviews and a little dream came true. The Mini-Spot arrived quickly, beautifully and responsibly packaged - and works perfectly. There was about a 30 second installation time after the initial charge - I put it on top of the frame, turned it on, and instantly one of my favorite paintinga was highlighted by this discrete and simply designed little spotlight. The light continued to work perfectly on the low setting for about 10 days at 5 hours a day. Then we charged it - uh oh. Stopped working.....because someone in my household used another charger (the instructions that come with the Mini-Spot clearly state not to do this as it will break the light). Despite our user error which was completely responsible for the issue, after I emailed Amazon Situ Lighting replaced the light at no cost the next day. I mean - the next day. At no cost. When I said I thought I should pay for it as I broke it - the response was: "Everyone makes mistakes, we will cover this for you." So I got back a new unit very quickly - and it continues to work perfectly to do what it is intended to do - highlight an otherwise pretty dark painting. This is my new favorite thing from my new favorite company. Did I mention that I called to discuss the issue - and spoke for 10 minutes with the company's president who answered my call personally?? He was lovely: funny, smart. informative, and totally focused on my positive experience as a customer. Found out there are new products coming. Sign me up! Oh yes, the cons: there aren't any. The price is a tiny bit intimidating but when I realize how long this product will last and the value that comes with it - plus the fact they stand behind their products and their lights are made in America - it is totally worth it. So easy to use, and so effective. I am re-evaluating how all of my paintings will look with the addition of one of the Situ lights! Agree with other reviews that these are a great investment and work really well. After years of looking at art lights and being put off by the thought of wiring them in and the size of the light fixtures, I was delighted to find these. Customer support was great and they have good advice. Note that glass fronted pictures will show glare but the Situ site has tips on how to light these. The art we lit were all canvases with frames we could rest the lights on. They are easy to sit the lights on the frames and remove for recharging. The charge lasts a good while. They have adaptable brightness levels. Make sure you find the right bulb warmth level. 3000k is the standard warmth level for a natural light that enhances the picture best. The Amazon posting doesn't make it easy to find this. I also loved that I was supporting a US based small business. The lights come beautifully packaged.

Pricey, but extremely well built and effective. It's unobtrusively small and trivially easy to mount. I could not find another comparable light. Worth it for a special painting.

Voilà une lampe de qualité, bien conçue et bien construite. Elle arrive très bien emballée et accompagnée d'une lettre de courtoisie du président de la compagnie. Le chargement électrique se fait sans histoire. La lumière produite est très pure et il y a effectivement trois niveaux d'intensité. Soulignons toutefois que la lampe se dépose sur la partie supérieure du cadre du tableau. Visuellement, il vaut donc mieux que celle-ci ne soit pas à la hauteur des yeux si on veut que le contrepoids de la lampe passe inaperçu. Le prix est très élevé, mais le coût en vaut la chandelle! Attention, toutefois, les frais de la douane canadienne de quelque 30 $ ne sont pas compris dans le prix et sont payables au bureau de poste quand on va chercher le colis.

I’ve bought several lights for oil paintings over the years. This one is the best—simple and small, great looking and made of fine materials, high quality light . Expensive but worth the price

Love the fact that this light is so tiny so it does not compete with the art, yet is powerful enough. Also no installation required. Great design and performance. Totally worth the investment.

Quality is there …I did have a problem with the light NOT coming back on the co.answered a solution quick but didn’t resolve problem I still have to turn on manually and it does shut off automatically it’s perfect for our moon pic. Very happy with it.
