Digitus USB to Parallel Centronics Adaptor Cable

I've kept a couple of old computers running to drive my Roland engravers, the trouble is they are becoming a bit flakey now so this lead allows me to drive the engravers with a laptop. I'll need to keep my old ones to change the engaver firmware etc but other than that all works well.

I knew when I saw that this was coming from Germany that I was going to get a good product. I've been burned a few times buying cords from unscrupulous companies that are just unloading junk that doesn't even match the description, and by the time you figure out what happened, it's not worth the hassle of sending it back. But this was exactly what I needed for my old hp InkJet 4100. Of course, setting up the software is a whole other headache -- but the cord does exactly what it is intended to.

Der Adapter wurde von okluge sehr schnell und ordentlich verpackt geliefert. Man bekommt exakt den Artikel, der auf der Artikelseite abgebildet ist, sprich - einen USB/Centronics Adapter mit schwarzen halbdurchsichtigen Steckern und einem durchsichtigen 1,8m langem Kabel. Ebenfalls im Lieferumfang ist eine Treiber-CD (wird unter Windows XP nicht benötigt).In meinem Fall hat alles tadellos funktioniert. Centronics Stecker in den Drucker (EPSON Stylus Color 440) und das USB Kabel in den Rechner rein, Drucker und Rechner einschalten. Nachdem das Betriebsystem (Windows XP) hochgefahren ist, wird der Adapter als neues USB Gerät erkannt und die benötigten Treiber werden vom Betriebsystem automatisch aktiviert. Schon ist der Drucker bereit zum Drucken. Also wirklich Plug and Play.Ebenfalls bei Amazon wird häufig dieser Adapter sehr günstig angeboten: USB zu Parallel LPT Kabel Adapter schwarz - gut zu erkennen an der Aufschrift "USB Parallel Printer Cable". Ich habe diesen Adapter bereits von zwei Händlern bekommen (einmal fälschlicherweise, weil der Adapter auf der Artikelseite anders/falsch abgebildet wird, man aber ebenfalls diesen schwarzen "billig" Adapter geliefert bekommt: USB auf Parallel Druckerkabel Adapter, siehe Bilder die ich auf der Artikelseite beigefügt habe). Dieser Adapter funktioniert scheinbar auch mit manchen Druckern (laut Käufer-Rezensionen), mit meinem EPSON Stylus Color 440 hat er leider überhaupt nicht funktioniert (der Adapter wird als USB Gerät erkannt, der Druckauftrag wird jedoch nicht ausgeführt und führt zu einer Fehlermeldung) - also gerade das Gegenteil vom DIGITUS Adapter. Meine Empfehlung für EPSON Drucker: DIGITUS (schwarz) oder baugleicher InLine (türkisblau) Adapter.

This cable was perfect...I had an old printer and wanted to hook it up to my new laptop. The cable worked fine. However, the trouble is that my laptop did not support the old printer. So, if you are trying to do what I was trying to do, save yourself some time and money and make sure your laptop supports the printer first. I gave the cable away with the old printer.
