Do these hold up to heavy use on stainless steel?

Sadly to say that it does not hold up to stainless steel. I am an Exterior Electrician and ordered a bunch of these for my guys to use out in the field. It did not work on our Exterior panels nor on our Transformers the first, second or third time. The bits gave out and dulled as soon as they started drilling. We ended up purchasing high end step-bits we've ordered before and they worked well. I did a trial with these bits and ended up short on the winning end.

Drilling a 1 1/4" hole in a stainless steel sink? Any suggestions?

The best and cleanest option to punch a hole in a stainless sink is with a hydraulic Greenlee hole punch. They are expensive to own. You might want to see if you can rent a set.

What size is the shank

Hi Randy,The 3/16"-1/2"(six step drill) and the 1/8"-1/2"(thirteen step drill) both have 1/4" shank. The 1/4"-3/4"(nine step drill) has a 3/8" shank. Hope this will help you?

does this drill bit fits into the Black and Decker 3/8" 5-amp Variable Speed Drill with Keyless Chuck, DR260B

The shaft is 3/8 on the tool but, it is tapered so the drill chuck jaws can bite down so it will hold on to it, I have used it in my 3/8, 1/2 and my 1/2 mill, with no problem, I hope this helps you!
