Bought in March 2024 - Best laptop buy I've ever made. Lenovo build quality & upgradable spec'...
Very, very happy with this re-furbished T480. Lenovo reached a pinnacle with the T480 I think. It still had classic features of earlier models combined with an extremely good (& replaceable) keyboard. Take the back off easily to upgrade pretty much anything without fuss. Love it. I've not needed to upgrade mine with the re-furbished spec', 16Gb & the solid state 256Gb is great. I bought a 256Gb SDXC card which is left installed in the SD slot all the time as my back-up location. Of course you could buy a 500Gb SD now too for less probably, but I never store too much on a laptop without occasional transfer to my main desktop system. The keyboard has been pounded extensively over the past 6 months of ownership and I am seriously tempted to buy another re-furb' T480 from these suppliers again. Upgrading the solid state drive is not complicated either with the easy access to internal components the T480 offers. I've not explored that, but fitting a 1Tb solid state drive would really boost storage capacity of course. I do not see any compact HD screened laptop with such repairable & upgradable capacity in the long run available today (at this price), when laptop tech' is always moving forward rapidly. I use mine primarily for browsing & word processing. Can't speak for HD graphic gaming, but I do play 4K video & edit it without much of a delay. So the standard refurb' spec' appears to work well from own perspective. The case, touchpad & keyboard are still working positively & I know I can replace individual components as & when, at least at present. This is not an illuminated keyboard version but apparently the illuminated version is less durable & tactile (only from what I've read in reviews, as I had planned to upgrade that, but it would not have been an upgrade really I've now realised I think). I do a lot of typing on the T480 & it is responsive & has a positive feedback with a definite depth of press to the keys, nice! I use an external Bluetooth or wired mouse, but the touchpad is swift with the L&R selector keys directly above & between the main keypad spacebar. Everything has a reassuring positive click & response to it. I am not a user of the famous 'red dot' Lenovo red navigation textured button in the middle of the keyboard (below G & H); but other users claim it is one of the best input method features on Lenovo's. I have used it for some basic cursor moving, but cannot speak for it's real application in everyday use... I need to spend more time using it! I bought 2 heavy duty batteries (I love the fact you can swap out batteries... how many laptops offer that these days!?) & an AC charger for these 3rd party batteries from eBay, which work great incidentally. The supplied slimline battery (an original Lenovo I think as it has a slightly textured feel to it, which I remember from work Lenovo's I've used) is fine, however, it will only give you around an hour use unless plugged in to the AC & charging while using. Yes, these are 'cleaned & swiped' items, the back is definitely not the original. The plastic is smooth, durable enough, but clearly does not have the labels associated with either Microsoft or Lenovo's own manufacturing details. However, open the device & the internals on the my model are original. The internal battery is missing, no big deal I think, I do not want an aged leaking/original internal battery & it is still an option to purchase & add the internal battery if you want. I think it's just simpler to have a couple of external heavy duty batteries as mentioned. It is just cool these days that you can swap out a flat battery with ease & slide into a fresh one. You could have up to three different types of battery capacities as far as I found on eBay. Just makes the whole device much more flexible & dependable for power I think. Just my opinion of course, others may feel differently. I'll post another review after a year of keystrokes! Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

USA spec NOT UK and not fit for purpose
Bought for work as my old HP is dying a slow painful death. This I thought would be a half decent laptop with good reviews albeit 7 year old, it's still quite a capable little thing, or so I have been led to believe. Initial set up was an issue due to the (unknown to me at the time) keystroke failure, the twin battery function and capacity is pretty worthless, marks on the screen visible on dark picture. On the support chat to amazon got it restarted and working 'ish'. However, it continued to have numerous key issues including the mute button flashing uncontrollably and the fn keys not responding, the @ and " keys not applicable to their designated outputs etc. Oh, and no £ sign, just the $ ...warning signs! More research would lead to discovering this had the incorrect software installed( some Generic laptop crap). I went to the Lenovo support site and found correct and applicable software after an annoying amount of time. Their website also confirmed this was a US market product and has a US keyboard. I tested the keyboard through their help and support, and found that the keyboard is NOT faulty, and I confirmed this by using type to speech, this speaks upon every keystroke. This, it did impeccably. So, after days and days of trying, updating and downloading, I have admitted defeat and have requested a return. I have many issues with the seller and obviously the laptop itself, but the lack of detail ANYWHERE that this is an imported from the US laptop is a big RED flag. The fact they say it has been "refurbished" is extremely debateable, and it ships with a charger that only works if you put it in the laptop in a certain way! I will update this review if the return and refund is also an issue. Finally, my advice to prospective buyers is, do your research, speak to the companies selling these BEFORE handing over your money, and contact AMAZON immediately upon any issue. I knew I was buying a second hand laptop, but I bought the (Excellent) option, and I at least expected it to work, aesthetically I wasn't too worried, but I thought I was getting peace of mind. Brilliant
Excellent very happy with this laptop. After some research I chose this laptop after my two previous ones were a disaster. Was slightly concerned following reading other reviews regarding battery, however the postive reviews far outweighed the negative ones to decided to go for it. I have waited a month before leaving this review and so far am 100% happy with purchase, it works like a dream. As new condition. Set up was seamless, everything exactly as described and so far no issues with battery at all. Thanks for Excellent quality laptop at bargain price very happy.

Great device for Linux Users, but still performs well with Windows 11
Very impressed. Bought this looking for something which could handle daily development workload while still being affordable. For a renewed device I was happy to receive this laptop in great condition, with only a few minor buffs/scratches to the body as advertised. For a device from 2018 this laptop performs really well, going from power-on to dekstop in about 20 seconds. I opened up the device to find the inside was well looked after too - with all components in great condition, and no dust, marks, or debris anywhere to be found. You could quite easily convince me this device was fresh out of the factory if not for the few wear-and-tear marks on the outside. The device is nice and light too, great for portability. Was sad to say that while it keeps up to speed with Windows 11, the laptop gets concerningly warm, and the battery life was a little disappointing, going from 100 to 0 in the span of about an hour just idling on Windows desktop. Along with the heat, the fan becomes very loud and rattles when spinning at high speeds. That said, I installed Linux alongside Windows 11 and can safely say that battery life and temperatures are massively improved while using Linux, with the battery life going up to around 3-4 hours easily, so it's safe to say the laptop just may not be entirely up to running Windows 11. If you're happy making the switch to Linux, this device is perfect for it, like many ThinkPads. The provided official AC adapter was a nice touch too, charging fast and at good temperatures. The display's sharpness and resolution are brilliant, but I do wish it was a little brighter. Overall, a speedy device with plenty of work put into cleaning it up, but under a lot of load using Windows 11, with Linux being the easy fix.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Seller – Highly Recommended!
I recently purchased a Lenovo laptop from this seller and was very pleased with the condition of the item. The laptop arrived exactly as described and was in great condition. I did encounter an issue when setting it up, as the login password was not being recognised. I contacted the seller, and they responded almost immediately. They quickly identified the problem and provided excellent IT support, guiding me through the steps needed to resolve the issue. Their customer service was outstanding—professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful. It's refreshing to deal with a seller who stands behind their products and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. I would not hesitate to buy from this seller again and highly recommend them to others.

Poor attention to detail
The laptop arrived very well packed. When unboxed it looked to be in very good condition. Upon firing up it performed very well. I loaded it with the information I needed to, which took around three hours. All the this time the laptop was plugged into the mains. I noted the battery was at 100% charge when I shut it down and left it overnight. The following day I went to power it up without the mains lead and it would not fire up. I plugged in the mains lead and it worked, the battery charge was reported at 0%. I assumed I must have not shut it down properly. However it turned out the battery would not hold a charge. How could this pass a quality inspection or even a simple test? I did not want to return the laptop due to the time spent setting it up and the time I'd need to spend uninstalling programmes and then reinstalling on another laptop. I offered to send the defunct battery to them for testing so they could send me a replacement once they confirmed it had failed. The seller said "Batteries without devices are restricted" and "we cannot ship a battery on its own" I asked why this was since one can buy replacement batteries, but they did not respond just asked me to return the laptop. Aside from this, none of the hardware drivers were up to date and Windows was not up to date either, not just by a few weeks but in some cases years out of date. These two points I would have ignored, in fact I did all the updating myself. Obviously a defunct battery can't be ignored. Overall a poor experience. I won't be buying from them again.

Laptop has now failed after 3 months so now only 2 stars - see update below
Bought it to replace an Amazon Refurbished T460 that had developed a hardware fault after about 4 years. Bad points: US keyboard so no £ symbol. But the fact that I am typing the review on the laptop shows that this is easy to resolve. Set a keystroke shortcut to change to UK keyboard, type <shift>3 and you get the correct symbol. Then another keystroke short cut gets you back to the US layout and carry on typing. Windows 10 not Windows 11. This is of course very easy to resolve. I've left it on Windows 10 for now as I believe it's more proven & stable. Good points: Just about everything else. Original charger (looks new). Truly excellent condition. Great battery life. And the one I was sent has a touch screen despite the description. I only found this out by accident! I have installed Office Professional Plus 2021 on it and its fast and responsive. So far very satisfied with this purchase given the price Update Jan 25. Now have a problem with it powering down when connecting or disconnecting the power cable. Also sometimes powers down randomly when running on battery. Also will sometimes not power up running on battery even with battery charged. Amazon have refunded me and I will buy a replacement as these are usually good machines. Not too sure about Lenovo switching to a USB-C type power connector though. The older type seemed a lot more robust. I’ll see how the new machine goes.

Great little laptop, no battery life
Good laptop for the price, pretty good condition and works well for what I needed it for. My only complaint is about battery- completely depleted. The laptop works only with a cable, instantly powers off if not connected. It's not what it says at description. While I can get a replacement battery as it's easily replaceble, I just think the description should mention that this is what I might get.
