Not only did it damage the wall but when it fell down after the first use it took the paint work with it. Buy cheap get cheap. Enough said!

This for the price is an brilliant bit of kit. Used various door pull up bars and spent alot more on them. This is sturdy, tightens at BOTH ends so you feel secure and took about a minute to fit. Door still closes and you can leave it up unlike the over door frame ones that I personally feel damage your door and are a bit unsafe. Great delivery and packaging and would not hesitate to recommend.

Returned as could not get bar to grip doorframe safely

I have a much more versatile over-the doorframe bar but bought this to replace a York chin up bar that broke from over tightening and had begun to corrode. This bar is superior in quality to the York bar, it extends from both ends so the grips are central and is absolutely rock solid when using the brackets supplied.Also supplied are two rubber anchors which are less obtrusive when screwed into the frame - I'm using them lower down the doorframe for inverted rows. They're not quite as solid as the brackets but there's no chance of the bar coming loose provided you extend it tightly onto them. I haven't tried attaching the bar without anchors or brackets but I wouldn't recommend it unless it it's only for situps.The foam grips are comfortable and I've had no problems with the bar rotating or loosening (be sure to cinch it up tightly). Overall, it's a bargain and I have no problems recommending it.

Bit shonky quality, I have no idea why people are rating this so highly.You'd have to weigh less than 8 stone to feel secure and safe using it

This door bar stayed up for about five minutes, but soon came down and that was it, it wouldn't tighten up after that. Poorly made or badly designed. Cheap rubbish, not fit for purpose, don't buy this product.

I bought this with the same intentions as you probably have looking at this. Set it up, did it for a few days - got to 4 pull ups at a time, knackered the paint on the doorway... stopped doing it as often, it annoyed me brushing on my head in the doorway... took it down.. fixed the paint and put it in the shed...This doesn't replace effort but it's a start ... go for it... just don't be as lazy as me!As for the product ... decent but i'd go for one that cantilevers over the doorframe not knackers your paintwork!

Was shorter than last one and even at the description measures can't be installed because when open to the max (the measures written than it can open! ) it's falling apart it's too short

Impossible to put up. A total waste of money. I bought two of these, the screws are flimsy and snap, this is without any weight on them at all. Dread to think what would have happened if I had got it set up and tried to use it. Don’t waste your money, pay more for a better product

Great item, super fast free postage. Fasterns nice and tight by just twisting it with both hands, and will not slip with the rubber inserts conected to the doorframe. I'm 6ft and 14 stone, it has not moved or slipped once. The middle screw is to secure it once in place, just make sure the screw is on the opposite side when using it.

My daughter uses this bar to increase her strength for gymnastics and really gets great use out if it.You need to screw in two little black nodules into a door frame and then adjust the bar by twisting it.You can take the bar down by twisting it several times. One thing to note is that it has a really thin thread which means that you feel like your turning twisting the bar forever and it’s not really opening/closing but it actually is just a couple of mm at a time.

Very nice piece of equipment.So easy to install. 1 screw either side of the door frame and then turn the bar until it fits over the screw bits. Don't do it in a door frame with a window above it or next to it.It did bend our door frame when installed.Works if you work it.

Arrived promptly. The fittings that fit on the door frame are safely holding the bar up. The padding on the bar makes use comfortable. Now all I have to do is reach my target of 20 chin-ups by the end of the year. Can only manage 5 so far!At least with this piece of kit it doesn't take up amy space and because it is there it encourages you to have a go. I wish the same could be said for other pieces of keep-fit kit I have bought which tends to reside unused in the spare bedroom!

Super value, easy to install. only reason it loses a star is becuase there is no way if locking it. If I do pull ups from the wrong side it will slowly unscrew itself. Overcome this by doing pull ups from one side and chip ups from another.

The best pull up bar on amazon for home use. Purchased 3 other pull up bars all terrible but this is so simple and so easy to set up. Make sure the mounted rubbers are square in the door frame otherwise you will have issues.
