Dangerous?
We have bought a few KONG chew toys for our dog in the year since she joined our family. She loves them all. But this one has been something of a nightmare - within just a few minutes of being given it she has bitten chunks of it off!Unfortunately, we haven't yet found all of those chunks, and I'm now hoping she hasn't swallowed any of the damned thing. As far as I'm concerned, this thing is dangerous, and if it hadn't been for the KONG name, we wouldn't have bought it for our precious girl.

My Dog likes it.
Brought this for our Frenchie that chews through anything quickly normally Nov 21 and just ordering another one Feb 22 as starting to chew through end of it, which will cut off and be ok for another month, he loves it so much wanted another ready for when this one is no good for him. Would I leave him alone with it, then no. does it need to be taken off him as gets all wet and drawl in it, which could if used to much make his face sore and gets on paws so he licks them when using it, which could lead to paw issues. But he has it for half hour at a time, taken off washed and put up till next time. Good as only few things he can chew and not bite parts off in short time of having.

My cockers favourite toy
My 8 year old cocker spaniel LOVES her Kong dental toy. I put nothing in/on it (didn't realise you could!), she just loves gnawing on it every evening after the family meal. It's part of the evening routine, finish the dishes, plonk down on the sofa to relax, grab the Kong, lie by mummies legs and chew! (Obviously I do the dishes, not the dog!). Yes it breaks off in small chunks over time, but I personally wouldn't consider it dangerous (the junk they pick up out on walks in mind) .... And this dog could certainly destroy toys in her youth, she just loves exercising her jaws on it. Big tick from us, new one en-route for Christmas.

This has really helped our dogs teeth
Our dog has lots of allergies, so we're not able to give her dental chews etc. This has really helped to get rid of some of the plaque from her teeth as they were getting quite bad. She has nibbled on the ends of the chew, and it is rubbery rather that rigid, but overall we're very happy with the purchase.

My dog loves it
Bought this for my Belgian shepherd, he was a little unsure to begin with, but after a few licks of the paste we applied he was soon hooked.Long after the paste has gone he is still carrying the toy around, giving it a good chew, probably in the hopes that the tasty stuff will come back. After giving it a really good chew there are no visible signs of chewing, but given the quality of Kong toys I wasn't expecting there to be any.

Good in theory but not for my dog
I had such high hopes for this and spent time selecting the right doggie toothpaste. It arrived quickly and my dog was initially excited at the prospect of a new toy. Once I had managed to get the toothpaste into the grooves which was a little tricky, my dog was not interested! I have ordered some kong paste so hoping I will have more success. The toy itself is everything you can expect from Kong. It is solidly made and very durable. I would have no reservations in leaving my dog alone with this toy. I would say that if you have carpets, maybe supervise your dog as the contents does come out occupationally. I have wooden floors so it wasn't really a issue for me. Cleaning the toy is a pain but I ironically used a toothbrush and took no time at all. :)

Ignored
My vet suggested getting something like this and spread dog toothpaste on it to clean her teeth but she just ignored it. It is now just a throw toy which she will chase but not return it. She is 11 so perhaps you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Lasted less than 5 minutes!!
I don't normally write reviews but this item arrived today and i've already had to remove it from my dog!! I put some peamutt butter into the grooves and gave it to my 2 year old Cockapoo......it lasted less than 5 minutes before bits of the rubber started breaking off. I had to take it away from him after he ate a little piece of it. I even bought the large one for him as well!!! I don't understand how this can be described as a 'dental stick' when it breaks if they use their teeth on it! Gutted that I wasted my money on it.
