Great book for English lessons. A lovely resource to use to teach. Lots of discussion points.

Great product

This book is great for children and adults. The pictures are really lovely with lots of attention to detail. However, unrelated to this it would be even greater great if Amazon would PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAX in the UK so others won't have to suffer further cuts in services, schools, public transport, housing etc. Please Amazon, behave more responsibly and contribute to a fairer society.

Not blown away on first reading though did have a nice eerie atmosphere. My six year old was a bit underwhelmed. Reminded me of all things of The White People by Arthur Machen! Will read again at some point. Bit similar to, but not as satisfying as Into The Forest.

I a fantastic story with lots of interest for children in KS2. Great for a reading lesson, but also just a great book. Lots of interest in both the story and pictures.

My 5 year old and I love Anthony Browne books and this was no exception. The first time I read it my daughter asked me to read it again immediately after. And again. And, as with all of Anthony Browne's books, it opened up avenues for loads of really interesting conversations between the two of us. My girl loved it so much she took it to school with her the next day to show it to her class as the words are perfect for her reading level (yet the message within the story would also be suitable for slightly older children). I might add that, due to her obsession with the film, Return to Oz, my daughter loves anything that involves people being turned to stone!

Used the book with class in school. They loved the story and the cover proved though provoking for them - imagining what she would find in the tunnel? Where did it lead? Would she get back home? Brilliant illustrations all the way through. Love Antony Browne books.

very impressed by the book ,the pictures are great to talk about as there is so much in them. The written content supports the story and allowed us to go off track and revisit the story as there is so much in it without words.

Très bien. En revanche l’histoire a fait un peu peur à ma fille de 5 ans. Je le garde donc de côté pour plus tard.

A wonderful book for children. Stretches a child’s imagination and perfect for siblings.

This book is mysterious and imaginative. It is a little scary but my daughter asks for story time. Illustrations are beautiful. I love every Anthony Browne book I’ve read.

I bought two of these books for my grandchildren. It was a great favourite of my children and now their children
