Amazing, great quality, great design, study and reliable
There are a bunch of these on the market, lots are plastic. I liked that this seemed sturdier than plastic. Plastic breaks/ This is laminated press board... not exactly wood... but it's the higher density pressboard so it's solid. The stand arrives folded up in storage mode, and you realize right away how clever the design is. It's made to be so compact it goes back on your bookshelf like any other small book, but it's strong and sturdy enough for the typical 800-page technology reference book... even with 10 pages on one side, 790 on the other, holds it PERFECTLY. The tabs to hold pages are very strong metal springs with rubber tips, so they hold nicely and will handle YEARS of use. The hinges are all good quality and it folds smooth and precise, and there are two rubber feet to hold it in place on your desk. I have a desk lamp above the book holder location, but I liked how another reviewer showed they attached a book light. There are two hard plastic pieces meant to protect the upper corners, and they seem good and secure. If I had to nit-pick, though, it would be for smaller paperback books (6 x 8" size). The cover kept getting caught on these when I'd go to flip pages and push the book back into place. At that size, the paperback cover would naturally slide back outward, then get caught behind the front edge of these. I'd need to lift it past (so the cover was in front of the corner protector) and then I'd be all set. To solve that they'd need that plastic protector to go the full perimeter of the piece. Or better yet, make a solid hardwood version of this with rounded corners and no need for plastic protectors; but with all the cheap plastic competition, that might put it above the market price point. I'D pay extra for it, but others might not.) Overall, impressed that it works well, and is well build product that should last for years.

Excellent Book Stand Purchase. Two Thumbs Up!!
First of all I will like to thank Dan Sevo and the his family for making such a wonderful stand. I love it! It is just what I wanted and more. I love the personal touch of the Thank You Letter inside and the signature of Mr. Sevo, which gave my purchase a personal touch. It really speaks a lot about their customer care. When I got the item it was packaged in the Amazon box of course then this lovely box which packaged my item inside. Satisfaction! When I opened the box, I saw this smooth, light brown coloured stand with paper holders at the bottom with an approximate 2" base for the book to stand on. It looked so clean and inviting to touch. I inspected it thoroughly because I expect value for money. I work very hard and expect my purchases to always be of an excellent quality. The Sevo family did not disappoint. I was too excited to place my first book on it. I whipped out my Bible and placed it against the lightly stained vertical rest, propped it up with the metal clip to the back, twisted the paper holders onto the pages and just admired it. Wonderful!! I was extremely pleased and spent my money well. At the top of the book stand are these black corner edges which gives the item a really clean and finished look. The Book Stand is really smooth to the touch and very pleasing to look at. It is a great addition to any book shelf, bed, table or wherever I sit or lay to read. I read in bed most of the time and it is so good to just lay on my side and read without having to hold the pages. Also, not to forget, I use my tablet on it as well. Very handy in that area too. Another great feature is that, the hinges at the bottom are so tight that I can place a medium sized flat book, open it on the stand and without using the clip in the groves to the back it stands on it's own because of the sturdy built of the stand. I must admit again, I am very pleased with this item and will recommend anyone who really wants a durable, well built, aesthetically pleasing Book Stand to invest in this one. You will not be disappointed. Trust me. We done Sevo Family, well done and thanks. I am really very pleased. Marisa.

Superb book holder
I bought both the larger and the smaller model, because i wasnโt sure what would suit me better. overall the larger model (pictured) works better for me, because i use it mainly for textbooks reading, and the larger model is better suited for larger books. This product is SUPERB: very stable, lightweight, great quality. Itโs made in South Korea, whereas i believe most competitors are made in China, and are of cheaper quality & finish. The hinges are firm enough to keep the structure in position when you pick it up (i.e. the โbook-shelveโ, the back support, and especially the base at the back all remain in place if you need to move the thing around your desk or from one place to another. Other book holders simply collapse if you pick them up, and remain in position only if they remain steady on your desk). The โshelveโ holding the book is generally deep enough to support almost any textbook. Personally i think an additional slit at the back to enable a slightly flatter angle might be handy, but perhaps that would also make the base deeper, making the whole device more cumbersome and desk-space-consuming, which currently it is not (a good thing: This book-holder takes relatively little space on a desk). Very handy. Looks nice too. Makes it much easier taking notes (or eatingโฆ :-)) while reading. iโm discovering a whole new, fun way to read - A great thing for a book worm like me. Definitely worth the money.

Best investment for my study time
I love this book stand! I'm currently studying Anatomy and Physiology in college, and the stand holds my 1300+ page HEAVY textbook with ease. Having my book held at a comfortable angle for reading has relieved my shoulder and upper back strain. The little "clamps" that help hold the pages open are handy, and they also work to mark my place when I need to flip to the back of the book for the index or glossary. The stand is very sturdy, adjustable, and folds up to fit comfortably in my backpack. I have been using it nearly every day for almost 4 months, and it is just as sturdy as it was when I first received it. I am about to start a Microbiology class next month, so I will go right on using this book stand to make my long hours at my desk more comfortable. If you spend a lot of time reading at a desk or table, this stand will serve you well.

Sturdy, solid, easy to move and adjust.
I first bought this book stand in November 2021 (for $25) and it still holds up today and shows no signs of slowing down! Personal pros: -Nice solid wood feels sturdy in hand and the rubberized corners make gripping easy. -The slots in the backboard ensure that the support clip remains firmly in place. -The wide front tray and forward-pressing page holders ensure that books of varying thickness are easily supported. Personal cons: -Limited reading angle selection limits possible reading angles. See the โActto BST-09โ for a book stand that offers more angle customization. -The page holders must be moved once applied and are not see-through. Some book stands (such as the Actto BST-09) offer transparent page holders that do not apply pressure to the pages, allowing the user to move either the holders or the book once applied. Overall this book stand has been great for holding textbooks in the hard sciences (math, engineering, medicine) and lighter without a scratch. It might even serve as a decent paperweight if no others are available. Because of all this and for the fact that it was sold at a decent price, the โA+ Book Stand BS1500 Book Holder 11.8x8.5 for Heavy Textbook Reading Cookbook Adjustable Angle Foldable Sturdy Portable Sheet Music Recipes Ring Binders Home Office Kitchen Lightweight Bookstandโ gets a respectable 4/5 stars!

Innovative design
I'm a readaholic and am always looking for the best solution for holding books at a proper angle and keeping the pages held firmly back. I've tried several products, tried ones with clips that either broke or couldn't handle paper backs or large volume novels. I've bought two of these. First the smallest one for paperbacks. Great solution. I then bought the standard size one,, which also works great. Both are wood, which gives t a solid base. The real innovation are the clips on each side that not only hold the pages down; but, do some firmly, The clips are easily adjustable and adapt to any size book that I currently have been reading. The adjustable paper holding clips are the real difference maker. I have seen anything like them anywhere and I've spent a lot of time looking. I have zero complaints. My only mild concern is how long will the paper holder clips last and if they do fail and you just buy the clips. Again, this has not happened, I was just thinking X number of years down the road. The book stands are more expensive that most I've seen and purchased and they are worth every penny. Reading is one of my two major hobbies and the stands really make a positive impact. Highly recommended.

Life Saver
My friend talked me into getting this and I was skeptical. Not that I have it, I absolutely LOVE it. I am a law student so I can spend up to 16 hours a day hunched over a book. This stand is suddenly elevating my headaches from slouching and lets the page pick up WAY more of the room's light, so I'm not trying to read in my own shadow. It also takes up less space than the book would lying flat, which is amazing. About this specific stand, I definitely made the right choice. Other stands seem to be smaller in person according to customer reviews or aren't sturdy at all. This stand is amazing. I have an absolutely massive constitutional law textbook that I have. Hard time caring in my backpack and this bookstand holds it like it's nothing. The page holders are also extremely sturdy and adjustable while still being easy to move and tuck to the side. I love the adjustable level fo the stand, they are absolutely perfect. The only thing I'd change is it looks a little plain, but I'm artsy and am very excited to customize it with a wood burner or acrylic paint. Seriously, get this. I's so good for such a low price!

Sturdy book stand for hefty books
Best book stand ever for these reasons: It is well constructed of a wood composite and heavy enough to support the weight of heavy books. The page holders are firm enough to hold open the most stubborn books. The platform on which the book rests is 1 5/8โ deep so that is deep enough to hold open a 3 1/4โ book at the midpoint. The base is 7โ wide behind the stand and wide and substantial enough to prevent a very tall, heavy book from tipping. There are 5 slots on the back base allowing for 5 levels of incline. There are small rubber pads on the bottom to keep it from sliding back. The whole thing collapses flat. The main rest is 11 1/2โ wide by about 8โ tall from the platform up. Potential downchecks: The page holders are quite firm which might make it challenging with a book that needs lots of page turns. I think the page holder springs can be loosened a bit with a small philips screw driver tho I havenโt tried that myself. A possible solution is to use the only one of the clamps and insert the turned pages under it only after several pages are turned. Other uses: reading sitting up in bed, as a tablet stand, cookbook holder, magazine or newspaper holder maybe with an upright file folder to support the spineless things. I LOVE this stand. Maybe that is because it is such a vast improvement over the flimsy plastic thing Iโve used for years. It is a bit more expensive than other stands out there but it has been worth every extra cent spent!
