Does the job.
A great looking product that actually does the job even though it seems to struggle a bit doing it. The trick seems to be to make sure the opener is seated correctly on the tin first and don't try to "help" it get around the tin; leave it alone, it will manage. I was a bit skeptical at first because the noise it was making was like an over laden lorry struggling up a hill but it got there in the end. I am still a bit skeptical about the claim that it will open over 100 cans on one set of batteries ( which you have to buy yourself as they aren't supplied ) I bought Duracell batteries myself as they seem to last the best. They specify 4 AA size alkaline batteries ( thus providing 6 volts ) which means that rechargeable NiMH or NiCad batteries will not do (4.8 volts are not enough ) Tip: Keep all the packaging for this item just in case it needs to go back. I am quite happy with mine but I want to see how long it stays good. £17.99 is a lot to pay if it doesn't last long.PS. Yes, it does leave the can safe with no sharp edges. Quite cleverly done actually!

Excellent
I am totally satisfied with this product. After a few attempts to get it into the correct position it tilted its' back end up and moved round the can lid. When I removed the machine a little magnet lifted the lid off leaving a smooth finish to the edges of both the can and the lid. The lid can then be used as a removable cover for the can. Not only does the machine do an excellent job it has a really nice design and feels nice when held. I would recommend this product wholeheartedly.

Press the button, let it attach and do it's job.
This is a sweet piece of kit especially if you have hand difficulties, well worth the money but if you need to drain your tins contents have a drainer to hand as it leaves a sharp edge, beneath the magnet held lid it takes off, ideal for the kitchen though i don't know about restaurant size canned goods, its a flat lidded can opener, not one with a ring pull. Children need to be careful around the sharp edge as do we all, might be worth keeping a pack of plasters near by just in case.

If at first attempt It doesn't work try again but probably not for long!
First thoughts were doubting the use of it after the 1st. attempt although it it did work. The second attempt worked well so 'Wifey"is happy now. So am I cos I won't have to help with can opening. Wish I had found this about 50 yrs. ago..... Well 3 months on and now rate it >1 star, opened about 6 cans and like others found very fine metal shavings produced. It still makes a lot of noise but won't open the can. So Wifey not happy now and Hubby not happy either. Now I have to go back to Stab and lever style opener, at least it doesn't need batteries..........Save your money Peeps.

Great tin opener
I bought this because I was beginning to struggle with the conventional tin opener, due to arthitic joints in fingers and less strength in hands etc. How fortuitous because, interestingly enough, soon after buying this, I had a serious shoulder injury meaning I could do little with left hand/arm for some time. Thank goodness for this little gem.At first, I thought it was rather slow going round the tin and I didn't know when it had finished but I soon learnt to listen for the (slight) change in sound. The lid rarely lifts off using the magnet so I usually have to manually lift the lid from the tin but I don't mind that at all. As for it being slow to circle the tin, it means I can set the opener going, then go to fridge to fetch bits needed and tin is opened by then so can switch it off.I love this little gadget. It's certainly saved me a lot of struggling. As yet, I haven't needed to change batteries but the batteries will then get 're-used' in my computer mouse where any remaining charge will get well used, if any charge left, of course - I've yet to see! ;)Definitely recommend

An Excellent Device That Works Well.
I had muscle condition in my arms that meant I wasn’t strong enough to operate my traditional tin opener nor was I able to open a ring pull tin. This opener was a real boon even for the ring pull tins as most have a normal rim on the bottom which the opener deals with easily. My arms are now back to normal fortunately but I have continued to use it as it is so useful. It leaves no sharp edges which is a big, big benefit and the top can be used as a “lid” for storing leftovers or when heating the contents in the oven.My only criticism is the grotty range of colours, not bad enough to knock of a star though.I would recommend this opener unreservedly.

Works extremely well.!
I was absolutely amazed at how well it worked, because I thought that there's no way that it would open the top & bottom of a Corned Beef Can, but it did so, easily, leaving no sharp edges.! I would say that, if you want a battery powered can opener, you'd be silly if you didn't buy this one !!!!
