I would pick up Michael Morris’ book and read it carefully before contemplating acquiring a Dogo Argentino.
Michael Morris has provided a compelling and comprehensive description of the breed devised by physician Antonio Martinez who had been impressed by Argentine fighting dogs and set out to breed a mastiff with similar qualities yet possessing a social personality. I loved his health tip (temperature taking and administering medication) discussion as well as the “bark section.” This dog has a startling and thunderous bark, it turns out, that can be an issue. This is a great book for anyone considering raising not just this particular breed of dog, but any type of dog, as much of the advice inside pertains to the basics of raising a dog, from proper diet to potty training techniques to vet visits. This book goes into surprising detail about the Dogo Argentino, for example, retelling the history of its breeding and explaining the legality of ownership in different countries. It's a short, sweet read, but it works best as a reference guide to keep tucked away and refer to frequently during your journey as a potential owner of a Dogo Argentino. Highly recommended for any dog owner.

Dogo Argentino/Mastiff - Good information we all need!
Wealth of information on this breed. Good to know of the protectiveness of this beautiful animal, moods, habits and the need of a leader. The information about this dog needing strong leadership in the home helps me to know that I would need a different breed. I am way too easy on my animals and give in with their demands. This beautiful animal needs good training as he respects a strong personality better. This book informs both adults and children about their needs. Even the information on checking shelters for these dogs is helpful for someone suited for them.

This is one of my favorite book about Dogos. I’m glad that the author included information on where to find the best breeders as well as how to identify a healthy Dogo from the unhealthy ones. I also loved looking at the pictures. I had a wonderful time reading it. I would love to recommend it to my friends who are also Dogo lovers like me.

Written for children
I thought I was getting a book to learn something new. This book is unbelievably mediocre. I have a Dogo Argentino, and based on this book’s standards, I can write a book about it. It’s like the author raised 1 Dogo and wrote a book on it. No real good tips that a quick google search wouldn’t come up with. One of the tips offered in this book was to check your puppies paws before he comes inside because he might have gotten poop on them and then goes into a story about why he does that. Waste of money unless you’ve never owned any dog ever.

Seller was great, book subpar
There was a signature blank area of each page where the printer didn’t touch. In places it made it to where you can’t make the words out. This was a basic dog training book with little to know specifications on training this breed in comparison to any other.
