Eve Mattress (Twin XL)

We had been looking for mattresses for months. I had researched the Eve mattress quite a bit and almost bought one in October, but couldn't bring myself to take the expensive plunge on a mattress we had never even sat on. Around Christmas, it went on super sale, and I decided to go for it! We got such a great deal on this mattress, but after having now slept on it for 3 months, I have to say that it is even a huge crazy bargain at full price!! My back feels amazing. My husband and I sleep like babies. Now, admittedly, we waited FAR too long to replace our old inner spring mattress (14 years), so it is possible that ANY mattress would have been a huge improvement... BUT THIS MATTRESS HAS CHANGED OUR LIVES. We are so much nicer to each other because WE ARE TOTALLY RESTED in the morning. We were both reticent to switch to memory foam because we thought it would be too soft, but this mattress is NOT. It is totally supportive where it needs to be, and not where it doesn't need to be! I sometimes sleep on my back, sometimes on my side, and sometimes on my front. All three positions are fab. My generous hips find their little hole, and my smallish waist is still supported by its own foam, so my legs and back no longer have pain. Also, we have not found that sexy-time activities are hampered in this bed (I know some people express concern... but we have not found difficulties... yay!!)A few things: be sure to unroll this guy and let him sit in a ventilated place for a few days before you cover it up with your sheets and sleep on it. The off-gassing is pretty intense, but the odor goes away within that time period. (We were able to roll it out in our extra bedroom and open a window. This really did the trick) Also, by letting it sit out, the foam, which has been compacted for shipping, is able to fluff up to it's full fluffiness. I saw some things about the bed not being the full depth, but I imagine those folks didn't realize it would take a couple days for the foam to spring back.If you are switching from an innerspring mattress to a foam mattress, be sure you purchase the correct type of foundation. But if it is the same price, I might recommend going directly through the awesome company that is Eve.

I opened the plastic package of my twin size Eve mattress yesterday noon and let it sit flat (the foam layer facing up) in my living room over night to let the smell go away. Since it still smells this morning when I woke up, so I decided to unzip the cover the expose the foam and hopping the smell can run faster. Then I was shocked when I saw the "2 inch foam layer" was actually only 0.5" inch thick. Since it is too thin, so I used a cm ruler to measure it and took a picture.I thought Eve mattress is a high end mattress. But this kind of thickness of memory foam could not even be seen on the low quality memory foam mattress. I am very upset. I would certainly ask Amazon for a refund and move the bulky thing away from my home.

Wondered for a while whether to put 3 or 4 stars but figured since I've been using it without too much fuss for the past several months it deserves 4. First off, this mattress is FIRM compared to a lot of the other mattresses I've slept on, so much that it was rather startling for me the first night. If you contact Eve customer support, though, they do send you a mattress topper that makes the bed much more comfortable to sleep on, although the mattress topper starts to slide around and take weird shapes after a while, and it's a bit inconvenient to need the mattress topper in the first place... So 3 stars for the original mattress, plus an extra star for sending the topper as an improvement.Side Note: The factory smell is terrible and will linger in your bedroom for several days - and on your clothes, as well, should you choose to sleep on it immediately.

Really unsure about how to leave this review within the Amazon scoring system, as the packaging, delivery and everything about the Eve mattress from a looks perspective was great, it was just the feel that was a bit off for my wife and I.The material, memory foam, definitely has a connotation with it, and you think it'll be a lot softer than it turns out to be, but in fact it's actually a pretty firm mattress. I read some reviews that talked about this and because the positives were outweighing the negatives, we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, the mattress just wasn't comfortable for us. My wife even slept on the couch because she was so uncomfortable halfway through the night.And it's a not a knock on the mattress, since choosing one is a very person-specific thing. You do just take a big chance that it will work when you buy one like this without testing it out in person.Oh and the hassle free return that they talk about in the listing on Amazon, as well as on the Eve site, is not entirely the same. The Eve site policy, where they will send a crew to remove the mattress from your house, you have 100 days trial, doesn't apply if you buy on Amazon. UPS will come and pick it up free of charge, trial period is 30 days. So, it's the same, but just a little different for those that want to know.

We tried multiple traditional spring mattress for years and within a short period of time they began to snag and become uncomfortable. We looked at the price of the Temper Pedic and were not interested in spending $3K on bed even if it did last 10 years.We spent a few days researching and came across this bed a few other foam mattress similar to this one. Within the next few days - we get a GoldBox email for this mattress for $800 for a King. A bit cheaper than normal. We knew about the return policy and decided to try it out.We love it. We are on month 3. No indications. The bed is always comfortable no matter where you lay. Yes it is firm so you have to like this kind of bed. I am 6'5" and 235 my wife is a foot shorter and about half my weight. So finding a mattress bed fitting both of us was a struggle to begin with. The foam mattress was the solution to this.
