Fab design and easy to assemble.
I always wanted one of these as it looks fab to assemble and display your work and of course work on outside. It holds my A1 pad very well but i put a piece of board behind it to stop the pad from bending as I work on it. I used to ask myself why I would need one when I have a drawing desk and a drawing board well I have issues with proportion and looking ahead rather than down or at an angle is much better for life drawing and portraits although a little tiring on the arm. Also buy a good stool. This can also adjust to fit on a flat desk to work indoors. Perfect for artists of all levels and great for displaying your work.

Flimsy and unfit for purpose
It comes in two parts and i had to guess how to assemble it. And once assembled was very flimsy to the extent that when the canvas was clamped in place it moved as I applied a pencil or brush to the canvas. How this can be described as sturdy i don't know. Mine wasn't.

flimsy stand
Not impressed with this. Bought on the strength of four stars to do some painting at home but received a pretty flimsy bit of kit.No real tension in the board support. Tightening the bolts results in their heads going through the plastic mountings.I have had to take the main central section of the tripod apart and replace the bolts supplied with my own longer bolts and washers. Wish I had gone for a more expensive option

Fine for a beginner, but not recommended
This will be fine as a beginner easel but it leaves a lot to be desired. Fine for the price but there are a few major shortcomings:1) the cross-piece which provides the surface for the canvas to sit on is not fit for purpose. It attaches to the two front legs by hanging from screws that can slide up and down the legs, adjusting the height of the cross-piece. However it does not fit snugly and tightly but hangs loose and pitches forward, particularly when fitted with a larger canvas. This is a fatal flaw since the entire point of an easel is to hold the canvas steady at the desired height and angle.2) the joints where the legs meet cannot be tightened, so that the angles of the legs cannot be firmly set. This is not a huge problem but it is a simple feature that should have been included.I am an amateur so I will not be returning this, for the price it is fine and the problems I'm sure can be fixed with a couple of shims and patient care. But not an amazing product.

small easel
not what I wanted but if you want a small easel this is your man, I purchased this in error I guess but when the seller noticed my error he contacted me almost immediately and rectified the problem very quickly and without any fuss. Top seller and I would highly recommend him, while the Easel was smaller than I wanted it is perfect for a child

Good value and a good product...until...
This easel is easy to set up and sturdy enough to hold a reasonably sized canvas. The price is decent and this is just the job for a beginner who isn't sure if they will pursue painting as a hobby but wants to give it a try. It looks as though it might be built to last quite a long time as well.UPDATEThe top gripper has now snapped off this easel making it almost useless. Used a few times but a disappointing result overall as I thought it would be more robust.

Just right.
This easel is perfect for my requirements. My work space is very small with no room for a floor standing easel. The telescopic legs of this easel allow me to suitably position it on a table.I can then stand to paint larger canvases or boards.I also have easy access to my paints on the table, in the space underneath the partially erected easel. This easel is sturdy whilst being lightweight and I am very pleased with it!
