Using in the Laundry Room to Count Items Not to Dry in Each Washer Load
I have been using a pen and post-it to make hash marks for each type of item I'm putting in the washing machine that should NOT go in the dryer. I do this for each load that has any non dryer items. This is because I would forget all the items then mistakenly run them through the dryer and ruin them. Every load required cross outs and re-tallies. Then I would run out of space on one post-it and start again with writing categories PANTS: ||| TOPS: || etc. I bought this abacus to keep track without writing stuff down and crossing out. I labeled the rows with types of clothing. For each pair of pants that I want to pull from the dryer I move one blue bead to the side. For each top I move a red bead to the side. Then when I'm moving most of the load to the dryer I can make sure I have all the non-dryer items pulled out for hanging up. It's really tidy, easier than writing, reusable. I made the labels with a labeler that plugs into the computer that allows pics to be pasted in. Then do an image search for "free black white outline icon +shirt" or "...+pants". Then make labels (see pics). Also since the beads slide around easily if bumped, I bought these extra wide miniature clothespins. They're 1/2" wide and 1.75" long - don't get the skinny ones because they flip 90 degrees when you try to open them . My dad (the industrial engineer) would be proud. We plan to build a nice laundry / utility room soon. This is getting shelf space for sure.

very good
This product is very good and practical; my son loved it. It's great because they can learn to count to 100 and it's also very fun. I highly recommend it.

DO NOT BUY!
Ordered 2 and both arrived broken. The wooden beads are very small and made of poor quality wood resulting in beads that break easily.

Be careful with bar coming loose & beads falling
Abacus is nice but the prices aren’t glued in. The bar came off the other side & the beads started to fall off.

Good
This is quite small so if you are expecting a bigger one then order the large sized one. Overall, it is sturdy.

Only Amazon has Abacus to deliver, none at the any of the brand name toy store in GTA, Ontario, Canada. Guess not a hot toy in demand these days. The box has no instructions, so be prepared to learn from YouTube.
