I purchased this set to use with setting up my guitar neck to string clearances along the fretboard. It works quite well for this purpose. The thinnest of the feeler guages are quite thin so one must be careful with these. When I first received these, I carefully wiped the set down with paper towels to remove the protective oil. It was an easy thing to do. I went over the set a couple of times with a new paper towel each time. I then wrapped the set in another paper towel to soak up any excess. There really is no significant oil left on the set after this process and I am quite happy with the set. The value received on the price of this set is quite decent. I recommend.
