48V Lithium LiFePO4 Battery Charger for Golf Carts – 48 Volt 15A Onboard Charger, 51.2V/58.4V, Forklift (Ring Terminals)

After having two off-brand chargers fail (one lasted 9 months, the other barely 6) decided to give this one a try for its warranty and seemingly good reputation despite a higher price for lower output. So far, so good. It does seem a nicer quality item than the prior ones I had, it has a temp sensor on the leads, and both the AC and DC cords are substantially beefier as well. Upon plugging it it does a brief self-test (it takes about 10-15 seconds to begin charging), so that's a plus from a safety perspective (neither off-brand had a temp sensor and would just instantly supply current when plugged in). The fan is relatively quiet, and one huge difference is it runs much cooler. Another brand I had would get to 140-150* F after an hour or so of charging. This one barely goes over 100, it's only slightly warm to the touch even after several hours charging, which is hopefully a good sign it won't "burn out" in 6 months. The only con is it's only 15 amp output vs the others were 18 and 20, so it's a little slower to charge. The battery BMS reports bang on 15 amps charge current coming in so it's exactly as advertised, and being nobody is road-tripping a golf cart charge time is kinda irrelevant, but now it's about 6.5hrs to charge instead of 5 on a 105ah battery (of course depending how deeply it's discharged). Not a big deal but something to note.

Ok, so the but is there so you’ll read further. I converted my Yamaha golf cart from lead-acid batteries to a single 48V lithium battery. My old charger was not designed for lithium batteries so I bought this Form Charger designed for lithium batteries. It worked great for the first couple months. Then it didn’t. It didn’t because my battery drained to zero. Probably because I let it sit idle for 3 weeks without being in tow mode. The battery seemed to have endless power. But it self drained, likely as a result of the controller using some juice. As a result, the charger was not recognizing the battery (a complaint others have noted in their reviews, but there is nothing wrong with the charger). I contacted the seller who quickly replied with a recommended solution. The Form battery will not revive a dead battery, because similar to most chargers, it’s not designed to revive batteries that have lost all power. So the seller’s suggestion was to connect another 48V constant power source to bring it back to life. There are a few alternatives to do this. For $55 after 50% discount I bought a Lithova repair charger on Amazon and recharged the battery to 100% it took about 12 hours. I then reconnected the Form Charger and voila. It worked as it should. I cannot say enough about the awesome communication I received from the seller. Though all communication was via email, I received prompt responses to each of my inquiries. I highly recommend the Form Charger.

This is a good charger, but the customer service is better! The charger failed after 23 months of use, the charger was still under warranty. I simply contacted the vendor and they made it right and FAST! They contacted me in less than 12 hours and I had the new charger right away, no hassles, great communication! Things do sometimes fail - as long as it is under warranty and the company takes care of you like they did me...then NO COMPLAINTS!

Very good product runs a long time between charges. Money well Spent. Will purchase again when needed.

I purchased my charger a couple years ago. It has been perfect for my application. Recently, I started having an issue with it charging my lithium battery pack. I reached out to customer service. They responded quickly and resolved my issue promptly. Their customer service is outstanding!!! They put out a fine product and they really stand behind it! I would definitely consider purchasing another Form charger in the future!

Bought this Charger to replace my Allied Battery charger, price and warranty period was the main reason. $175 dollars less than what Allied wanted for a new charger. I hope this one will last more than 2 yrs, seems well built and has a great extended warranty that you have to sign up for on their website in order to get the 5 yr. extended warranty. Cord length is a little long for an onboard charger, no other issues so far, fingers crossed.

I have a 2012 Club Car Precedent. Two years ago I installed a twin 48v lithium battery package that included a battery charger. The original charger bit the dust after only 2 years. In researching replacements I found lithium battery chargers came with lots of claims and a wide range in pricing. I chose the Form Charger for reasons that it should hold up in extremely humid weather and was moderately priced. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Right out of the box I could tell it was excellent quality, compact, light weight and unlike my original, able to install directly inside the cart’ battery compartment. Having a few questions on how best to do this I contacted Form Charger and glad I did. They were exceptionally helpful. All in all this was a great purchase…I couldn’t be happier.

I had an issue with my unit right from the start with it not working correctly. I thought it was charging but it obviously wasn't, found this out after my golf cart left me stranded a few times. I had to charge each battery separately to get the Li-ion to pick back up, real PITA. My problem was also made worse because I hardly ever use my golf cart. I am very, very thankful that FORM has a 2 year warranty, because I finally reached out to them 18 months after my purchase. I received an email back from their operations manager, and he advised me to file a warranty claim. I filed the claim (had to video what the charger was doing) and the response was super fast. The claim was accepted and a new charger was shipped, showed up about 5 days after I filed my claim. I installed the new charger and it works perfectly. So if you have any problems, don't wait, just reach out to FORM, they are amazing and very attentive.
