Easy, Efficient, and Effective!
Reference: Used Black, on dark brown and gray hair. I was not sure this product would work, but it delivered. Most of my gray was over ears, left and right of center, and at the top of the head. Reviews here were mixed, but I have never dyed my own hair. With that in mind, I was looking for something easy! This dye only requires shampooing, so I bought it! With hesitation and a little anxiety, I read the direction, and started the process. On dry hair, I applied the clear and light brown shampoo from the bottle, but the bottle is made a little different (large housing on top for duel pumps). Since the shampoo wasn’t a color I expected, and I didn’t realize the extra bulky top was dual pumps, I stopped to Google the application process just to be sure. Of course, the bottle was performing as it should, and I was on the right track! Once the mixture was fully applied and lathered—with special attention to the finer hair along my hairline and over the ears, I put on the one of the extra large (for long hair) plastic caps which were provided with they dye. I checked for inadvertent dye tattooing and clean things up about halfway through the prescribed dying time. The box instructions recommend 20-25min, and 30min for next session if dye coverage is incomplete. I had full coverage, so I rinsed at 25min. Conditioned after thorough rinsing, and the color is amazing. It is slightly darker than my natural blackish-brown, but the gray hairs are no where to be found! NOTES: 1. The box does not say it, but you should rub your hands together to mix the shampoo and dye before putting it on your hair for even application. 2. You only receive two pairs of gloves and two plastic caps with the shampoo, so you will need more for future uses. 3. I would not apply this shampoo to disturbed scalp. I dyed my hair after taking down a crocheted style. If you recently scratched your head, or deep cleansed your scalp, this product might burn a little. It is listed as a natural hair dye, but there are chemicals on the label as well. I mention this because I had a spot that seemed to burn/tingle after application. It wasn’t bad, and there are no noticeable burns when I rinsed it. However, past perm users will know exactly what I mean here. The sensation did not intensify, but it was there. In my before photo (forgot to do it immediately prior to dying), I was covering my gray hairline with touch-up color products and a headband. However, the after photo had to be taken because I was so impressed. Not a single gray hair in sight! Good luck covering your gray! Highly recommend! 💜

Easiest, best coverage hair coloring
This was the easiest, most thorough hair dyeing I have ever done! I kept checking the directions to see if I missed a step! It colored all my gray hairs. It's been 2 weeks and still holding the color. My hair felt conditioned, soft and looked healthy. I will be using this again to the future.

AMAZING Color, No Damage on Relaxed Hair!!
I have relaxed hair and I cannot use normal dye unless they are semi permanent, so I figured I would try this out since it’s more natural and gentle. It works VERY WELL, my hair is like jet black after one use. I did leave it in for a little longer than recommended, but my hair feels like nothing has been done to it at all! No damage!! Highly recommend, it’s also very easy to apply since it’s a thinner smooth formula than traditional dye!

It worked!? Holy cow, it did work!
My hair is black, but I've been coloring since I was 10 because I was going premature gray. Correction, my mother colored my hair and I began as a teen. I 'm 40 now so I've colored my hair probably 300 times. About once every three months probably. I'm sure that figure isn't exact, but it's close. Last year I noticed I had orange in my hair after only a couple washes. White, "empty" hair can turn green or orange when dyed black. The dye was falling out of my gray, now probably white hair. I have streaks which is gonna be pretty cool when I do stop coloring. I kinda liked the peek-a-boo effect, but not the orange, so I decided to try and dye the front of my hair, where the streaks were, red. I refused to use bleach so the best I ever got was a dark burgundy, even with Splat. Again, it starts falling out and I'd done it like 3 or 4 times since last October. I was dealing with pale red and white threads. Cut to now and my bangs and temples are dry and brittle. I was done. I needed to cover grays and go back to black, but I didn't want to damage it further. I asked a hair dresser friend about plant based dye shampoos and she said it would be gentler on my hair if it worked. I tried a patch test last night to make sure it wouldn't react with my skin and would cover the gray. It did nothing and I left it for an hour or more. I decided since today was a wash day anyway, I'd try it. I left it in for an hour and a half, maybe two. My scalp never burned or really even itched. Not like with drug store box dyes where you wanna keep a pair of chopsticks handy to scratch your head or you'll go mad. Completely ignoring the instructions, I rinsed it out, scrubbed in some of my also plant based bar conditioner and left that for 30 mins or so. Guess who's hair is now black again? I was super surprised. It's a warm black and I prefer a cool, but I wear toppers anyway. Yeah they cover grays, but I style them so my hair and it are curled together. So grays peek through. I'm just so honestly surprised it worked as well as it did. I have not washed it yet. I wash with rice water, but only once a week. If something drastic happens like the color falling out or staining my pillow, I'll update this review. My intentions are to only use it when I notice the grays becoming a little unruly. I hope I can use it that way. I was banking on rice water strengthening my hair and I don't wanna have to bake my head every wash day to keep it black. As for why the patch test didn't work: I'm pretty sure it's two bottles in one, you depress the pump and both products come out together. You mix them in your hands and apply. I think that first little pump wasn't enough of one or the other products to activate it. I wound up using a lot, working in sections, but all the hair dye videos on youtube say to SATURATE the hair, so I did. Especially in the front where the most work needed to be done. It didn't dye my skin nearly as dark as a box dye would have and it washed out easily. I'm so shocked it worked as well as it did. I expected to have to do it a couple times for the effect to "build up" I guess. Idk about all the reviews saying it's fake. It worked just fine for me.

Easy to Use, Natural Black Color, and No Harsh Smell
This black hair dye shampoo is very easy to use and works better than I expected. I applied it like a regular shampoo and left it on for about fifteen minutes. It covered my gray hair evenly and gave a natural black color without looking fake or too dark. There was no strong chemical smell and it did not irritate my scalp. After rinsing my hair felt soft and clean instead of dry. I also noticed that the color stayed well after several washes. Overall this is a convenient and effective option for covering gray hair at home and I would recommend it to others!

I like this black hair shampoo. Darkens my greying hair strands.

My gray hair was completely covered. It's darker than the brown color that I use, but it's ok for me.
