nice and handy. they are made of heavy plastic making them very durable. easy to use and rather easy to clean with a little isopropyl alcohol. they are a great value for the money. with 8 of them in this kit you will not ever need more.

These work good enough. My granddaughters (7 & 5) like to have several colors out-and-ready to use but don’t want the colors mixing. This offers a workable solution but, only so long as they rinse off their paint brushes before dipping into another color. One additional drawback is the divots only hold a small amount of paint in each so either we use 2 trays for each painter or just keep refilling them.

If you are doing artwork with watercolor or inks, these palettes are useful for testing mixes and swatching. Set up your colors in series on each palette and work out your favorite mixes. When using watercolors in particular, the blend of pigments in each tube or pan determines how well they "play with others." Some colors, instead of creating a third secondary color, the famous yellow-and-blue-make-green instead create an unexpected and maybe not so desirable a shade. This is because some pigments can cancel out the reflectance of a particular wavelength light instead of allowing it through. So if you have a new set of colors, it's helpful to swatch your favorite shades and see what you get. Colors can have the same name in different brands but be made up of completely different pigments, and some brands will mix two or three, which have very unexpected results if mixed. So get a set of these palettes and experiment! These palettes are also fun if you are doing variations of the same painting in different colors. Summary: a very handy set for doing all kinds of artwork.

They were smaller than I was expecting but for an art project, they held plenty of paint without waste. I could save the unused paint by covering the tray plastic and continue my project the next day. With 6 trays, you’ll be able to work on a variety of projects and use plenty of color. Clean up is a breeze & the smaller size is much easier to store

I like these little paint trays. Be sure to washvthem first. Something on the surface made my paint granulate rather than be smooth when water was added. The problem was resolved when i washed the trays.
