Exactly like I imagined!

Exactly as expected
This is exactly as advertised and as I had expected. I like this product better than other similar product because it keeps the thumb protected as well as the rest of the hand. Similar products do not protect the thumb. I bought this to protect my son's thumb after he had broken it while sliding.

Works great and definitely protects the hands when sliding on dirt happens! The cushion padding is what sold me on this product since it gives extra protection.

Just what we were looking for
My son wanted a sliding mitt, but did not like the stiff ones sold by others. This mitt is flexible enough to grab on to the base if needed, while still providing protection. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a new sliding mitt.

Heavy duty yet lightweight
The biggest take away for me is how lightweight this is despite the heavy duty construction. I will say, it's the first sliding mitt that's had a fairly strong rubbery smell to it. That is from the rubber on the wrist wrap and wouldn't be necessary, but it's there. It won't be an issue as it's going right back into my son's baseball bag and only used outdoors. Just a note if you are a chemically sensitive person, that it does off-gas from the rubber.That aside, the rest of the mitt is lightweight yet reinforced. It works on both hands and love the wrap for the wrist to suit pretty much any age, young or old. The velcro is secure, but not so much so you can't get it free, a problem we had with a previous sliding mitt and because unusable for my teen. This however, works great. He's happy with it being lightweight for his pocket.

Ambidextrous Fit
My kid has been using this sliding mitt for a month, other than being warm its saved his hand. He's a pitcher so it's just common sense to protect his hand....now have him diving back to bag with left hand to protect his throwing hand from getting "cleated"....it works very well...as he got cleated ...protected his hand , no damage ..its nice it can be used left or right...I would definitely recommend.
