He was also crushed and a bit lost. He found his focal point on a bus ride home. In the present, Maleek has been in a long term relationship with a woman that really didn’t know him. He was there out of loyalty. His heart was not really in it.Nuri was a woman lost out of circumstances. She was out of work, out of her home, and running out of options. She was not the typical athlete partner. She was sweet, kind, loving, encouraging. She was also supposed to be the safe choice.Maleek and Nuri have a sizzle that turns into a roaring inferno over the course of time. With the children and a parent standing with them and their choices to make love, support, respect and strength a part of their lives. Each had their own issues to face head on and confront for their individual peace and future.Bianca Bambino. Could she be a future leading lady in one of Alexandria’s stories. Another bomb a** book!
This book had such a wonderful storyline. Malik was definitely a real man. Nori was exactly what he needed. I was so glad when Tasha removed herself from the relationship and then had the nerve to try and come back! Alexandria is a very, very good writer. I’m anxiously waiting book #2.

Adored this Series Starter!
Star hockey player Maleek finds himself the sole guardian of his two half siblings (who he’s never met) after his estranged father passes. With a high maintenance fiancé who wants nothing to do with these kids & a hectic schedule, they hire a nanny. Enter down on her luck Nuri. Living in her car & in need of cash, she easily gets the nanny gig & quickly wins over the hearts of Maleek & his siblings. Nuri & Maleek feel a connection. What happens when Maleek insists she moves in?This book was a quick & fun read that I couldn’t put down! It has a little bit of everything. There’s some drama (I love a mess ok… but dang is Tasha a piece of work), a little heartache to get you in your feels, spice is a 10/10, & all the swooniness between Maleek & Nuri. Those two were both dealt bad hands in life but I loved seeing them not only grow from their pain but build a life together. I’m excited to read more from the St. Louis Sires series!

very good
I'm a sucker for a cute cover, and I think this cover is adorable! I knew right from the start that this one would really work for me. Maleek right from the first page is someone that I was rooting for, and Nuri is someone who felt like she could be my friend. I loved both kiddos, and their relationships with both Maleek and Nuri. I adored the relationship between Nuri and Maleek, they IMO just seemed like a team right from the start. They really always respected and appreciated each other. I do really like sports romances, but one of the things I don't love about them is that I feel like they mention the character plays sports but a lot of times there aren't actually scenes with that sport, but that was not the case with this one. Hockey is everywhere right now on all of the social stuff that I follow, I do enjoy them and I will say that I get excited when I see one that features Black love. It's no secret that Hockey is not a very diverse sport so I always love to see that rep in books. This one does exactly what I wanted in the department. Not only was it actually discussed that Maleek was one of few professional Black players, but we actually get several scenes where he is playing hockey, and we get to see how his siblings really look up to him. I will say that for this book to be on the shorter side, I did feel like there was a lot going on at times, and I found myself rolling my eyes at some things. This one is full of drama, with Maleek's ex, and there are a lot of heavy topics discussed (child neglect, mental health mentions of a school shooting, death of parents), but it still IMO managed to be full of laughs, steam, and sweetness. There were a few other small things that I didn't absolutely love about this book but all in all I had a great time with it. The audio was great and it was the quick well written Black love story I was really hoping for.

Ms House is going to deliver a complete story. Strong heroes and heroines that match and compliment each other. Broken people hurt and/or settle, which may cause trauma to their relationships. Maleek's father's rejection and neglect traumatized him beyond repair...or so he thought. Nuri's trauma cost her her job. Reduced to find a job, any job. Her new job is life changing. This was a sprint fast paced and full of heat. I loved the healing and closure that Maleek experienced. The light that Nuri provided to his heart. Tasha made a decision that saved so many lives. The cameo from UNC was awesome and the setup for the other characters in the series have me anxiously anticipating the next book.

Amazing
I am officially a fan of Alexandria House - she writes a story where you love and wants the two MCs to succeed and be together. When Maleek was originally introduced I wasn't too keen on him but once the romance between him and Nuri I changed my mind about him because he was for sure smittenI devoured this romance in like a day. I couldn't put it down. I will promptly be reading Alexandria's back catalogueThe extra razzle dazzle was that this is a story about black love which is all love to experience
