Great Resource
This book has great goals. As a Special Education teacher, it does offer a variety. It was useful when recently writing an IEP.

great goals
Excellent information on a wide variety of goals. All are clearly measurable, which can be a challenge for many parents. My only wish is that they were categorized--by age or subject or something! I spent hours reading & didn't find anything usable. I did see a lot of good ideas, though.

Great Resource
This book has been a great help in writing IEPs. I have been able to change the goals to meeting the needs of my individual students. The book has given me ideas to get started with goals after I changed my area of special education from mild mental disabilities to moderate-severe disabilities. I was having a hard time thinking how to put the needs of my students into words. When I read through the goals in the book, I was able to relate many of them to individual students.

Great start
I wish the book wasn't so repetitive and was broken down more into short term/long term goals and had some kind of a chart stating what a "typically developing" child's behaviors might model. The book gave me some great ideas on how I can plead my case for my daughter to have an IEP above her 504b (she's autistic with ADHD and an anxiety disorder). All in all, positive and helpful, just didn't like the formatting.

Writing SMART goals
I love the fact that it goes into specific and obtainable goals. I would recommend it to every EC teacher and/or person who has to write clear, specific and measurable goals.

Goal look up difficult
The book helps me to develop my IEPs. The goals are written in the format my district uses and I am able to find goals and tweak them for the needs of individual students. While the book is helpful it is difficult to use the hard copy. It is difficult to find goals. The goals are not separated by subjects such as reading, writing, math, and etc. it is separated by communication, academics, and general. This makes it difficult to locate a goal for math when I am just turning to academics section and flipping page by page looking for a goal to use in math and I am having to read goals for writing, reading and math. I also bought the kindle version and find it much easier to use. I am able to search for key words to help me locate a goal. I would like to see the goals broken down into more subcategories with page numbers in the table of contents. This would make the bookuch easier to use.

The publisher and author should be ashamed. Print is tiny. You will need a magnifer to read this book.
