THESE BULBS ARE JUST AS BRIGHT AS THE HALOGEN BULB, BUT USE FAR LESS ENERGY, AND QUITE A BIT SAFER, DUE TO FACT, THEY DO NOT GET HOT, LIKE THE HALOGEN BULB.

I have one complaint that I could not get past. It is bigger around than the dimensions say. In halogen lamps, clearance is usually an issue, so it was not good to have this one that was thicker than expected. I bought another brand to compare the two, and found that the other brand fit in all of my lights, but this one only fit in 2 of them, so I had to rotate everything a few times to get the right set up. Brightness is good and so far it is working well. But, I didn't like that the size is bigger than expected.

I just replaced this particular lamp because it stopped working. While it worked, it was fine. Decent light quality and brightness. Instant on. I didn't try to dim it, since my installation just has a switch. I used it in the bathroom. There was plenty of room in my particular fixture for it to fit, but the retrofit lamps of this type are always going to be larger than the incandescent version. The main problem that I had with the lamp was that it failed to work after two months. It should have lasted many years, based on a 50,000 hour estimated life. I don't feel I got my money's worth. There's not way to know if this was just this particular lamp, or if there's a problem with this model of lamp. I ordered a replacement from another supplier, but it looks exactly the same as this one. There's probably one Chinese source, and they sell under many different "brand" names. I can only hope this one will last longer. When I looked for warranty contact information, I couldn't find any.

Bought 10 of these bulbs to replace 10 150w halogen bulbs that were in enclosed landscape lighting. All ten bulbs fit perfectly. Looking forward to seeing how long they last. Update: After three weeks and 14 hours a night of use all these bulbs are working fine. Glad I was able to find this replacement but would like to see the same bulb available in 10 watts. Right now I can only find the 8w bulbs in this design. The 10 watt larger lights are too big to fit inside my enclosed light fixture. I would buy these again in the future as my electric cost of using 1500 watts an hour has reduced to 50 watts an hour. The output say 350-450 lumens. That is about right for a 45w equivalent.

It appears as though this is a quality item. However, I bought it to fit into a fan light kit for a Casablanca/Riviera fan. The problem is that the original type J1 150 W halogen bulb is very small. This LED bulb is huge in comparison. It’s simply would not fit into the ceramic ballasts because the diameter is just too great.

The bulbs work but does not work in my floodlight's dimming circuit. The floodlight has two bulbs, one controlling the automatic dimming. That bulb does not work on that side. Hence, I had to keep regular halogen bulb on that side and replace the other bulb with this LED bulb. That is the reason I give it 4 stars.

I would like to give it a five star but it is just not bright enough to be a flood light.Love the energy savings.Pay attention to the dimensions. The are quite thick, but they fit well for me.I received it fast

Works the way I was hoping for it to work in my old extremely hot halogen floor lamp. Now the lamp is safer, continues to shine bright and is muchcooler .
