It's a Husky, runs and cuts great.
Needed for clearing up storm and flood damage after Helene. Amazon was the only place I was able to get one at the time. Fantastic saw, plenty of power, easy to start, not too bad heavy, and got it on sale. Overall for my first real saw, it's been a good buy.

Feels More Solid than a Stihl MS271, and less hassle to buy from Amazon
I originally ordered a Stihl MS 271 and asked for it to be shipped to my local Stihl dealer, 2 miles from my home. There was a promo to get the carrying case for free and an extended warranty. However, without telling me, the local dealership decided not to honor the promotion or my purchase from Stihl's website. They canceled the order without telling me, leaving me without the tools I needed a few days before I needed them for time-critical work. I had to fell a dead tree before an outbuilding was placed on the property, where later felling would be impossible. Amazon came through by delivering my Husqvarna 455 Rancher in about 4 days, allowing me to finish the work on time. This saw is rugged, hig quality, and cuts like butter. The vibration system works great, and I like that it's steel springs versus rubber dampeners. Also, the saw felt more substantial in the hand than the MS 271, which felt a bit light and cheap to me at the store where I learned they had cacneled my order wihtout telling me. The Stihl dealer explained that they didn't honor online promotions, then offered to sell me the same saw for $100 more with no accessories included. He also failed to provide the safety chaps I had ordered, and did not offer an excuse. This complete failure of customer service totally negated Stihl's value proposition of providing local customer service, and Amazon beat them in every other way by delivering this excellent product on time.

I love this chainsaw. It's perfect for a strong woman or man. I'm 72 strong woman, it rocks
I love this chainsaw. It's easier to start than my 450 R, the extra power makes it easier on my body because I don't have to work the machine in to the wood. I'm able to buy a skip tooth for it so sharpening is easier and cutting faster. It's a great strong woman chainsaw. I'm 72, I've had huskies for 30 years. The last 2 were somewhat disappointments but not this one. It rocks. I love the compression release and the way the choke is set up to use. The 20" saw chain and bar are the perfect counter weight to the machine.

Works Great
Cuts through large 20" round with no trouble at all. Using the engineered fuel, following directions, everything fired up and works as expected. The clutch brake cover is metal and unlike the cheaper chainsaws, will hold up without a meltdown. It's well worth the cost. The last 2 cost the same as this one. It's worth the extra up front, not dealing with all the hassle the cheaper other branded saws are. Update: After 7 or 8 uses, the saw died. It's not the fuel, as I use THEIR premixed stuff at 35$ a gallon. :( There's no spark and unfortunately, it needs a dealer to repair for warranty coverage. Terrible After repairs (ignition coil) it's been running fantastic without fail. The Hurricane Helene (AT trail maintainer/Sawyer) cleanup was only possible for me because of the reliability of this saw, even through stuff 27" thick (24" bar).

Great chain saw.
Very solidly made a very impressed with it. It's easy to start and obviously quality made. It comes with a 20-in bar but I've used it with the 24 inch bar and it works just fine.

easy to start, compression relief is a great feature, I'm very happy
This chainsaw has some serious power! I've ran it side by side with a Stihl MS 290 and it definitely keeps up just as well in my opinion. I unfortunately had a chain come off one time, and the way that the catch is designed on this saw definitely trashed that chain... This only happened once, and I've used the saw for 20+ hours at this point, which is a lot of sawing! As such, I don't think that's going to be a continued issue or a flaw with the saw itself. Saws this size are going to be heavy, so keep that in mind depending on what you're planning on doing with it... but the compression relief valve makes it easy to pull start this saw, the fuel bulb makes it easy to prime the carb before you try to start the saw, and typically it fires up on the second pull

What a machine!
The 455 has plenty of power and not too heavy for most jobs. Easy start every time and cuts through trees like butter. The 20โ bar is ideal for my main use which is cutting firewood and larger limbs. I was a Stihl user for years but now all my outdoor tools are Husqvarna. Highly recommended!

Spent more time fixing than cutting
Bought this as we had several big trees to cut after a big stor. Got all the safety gear and once saw showed up followed instructions on how to get started. 1. No matter how tight, bar bolts always came off mid-cut(safer issue) I had to buy fresh ones from Home Depot that would prevent coming off from vibration. 2. No matter what I do, chain constantly gets loose, resulting in poor if any cut. Will tighten, run saw for few min and then Chain sags. Spend more time retightening, stopping, than getting actual work done. Have watched many videos and other day none of this should happen once saw is broken in. Friend of mine that used saws for years said same thing. I had to also clean the interior because no way after just a few minimal uses that got that dirty. Also had to replace the belt as original one came with just wanting cutting. Really hoped for better. Once I FIXED it seemed to run fine. However to invest more time/$$ n something that should have had minimal setup, new, and saved time was not good. Update Sept 2024 Still issues persist, chain flies off regularly now and basically useless no matter what I do. Unacceptable for โnewโ.
